Movie: Matilda Director: Denny Devito Review: The Matilda, released in 1996 and directed by Danny DeVito , follows the story of a young , bright girl named Matilda Wormwood. The movie emphasizes the comedic and magical elements of her story. In the film, Matilda is born into a neglectful and selfish family, with her parents constantly dismissing her intelligence and abilities.Her father is obsessed with bingo,leaving Matlida to fend for herself . At school , she Meets a kind teacher, Miss Honey who recognizes Matilda,s brilliance, but the school is run by the terrifying Headmistress, Miss Trunchball who punishes the children Harshly .As Matilda grows, she discovers that she has telekinetic powers, which allow her to move objects with her mind. These powers come in handy when she helps Miss Honey take down Miss Trunchbull,who has been mistreating the students and even stole Miss Honey,s inheritance .In The end, Matilda,s powers and courage lead to Miss Trunchbull”s defeat, and Matilda is adopted by Miss Honey , escaping her toxic family. The movie wraps up with a heartwarming conclusion, showcasing Matlida’s resilience and the importance of kindness,intelligence, and standing up against injustice. The film adds humor, charm and visual effects to Roald Dahl’s original story, while focusing on Matlida’s journey frome a misunderstood child to a hero who changes her life and the lives of those around her.
