Plot
Matilda is a very smart little girl who loves to read books. But her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wormwood, don’t care about her because they wanted a boy not a girl.
They think watching TV is more important than reading. Matilda’s dad is a car
salesman, and her mom is always playing bingo. They don’t understand how
special Matilda is. When Matilda starts school, she meets her kind teacher, Miss
Honey, and a friend, Lavender. But the school principal, Miss Trunchbull, is a
mean and scary woman who hates children. Miss Trunchbull throws Amanda out
in the backyard by pulling her pigtails; out the fence she goes just because she
wore pigtails to school! Matilda discovers she has a special power—she can move
things with her mind! She uses this power to stand up to Miss Trunchbull and
help Miss Honey, who has a sad past connected to the principal. In the end,
Matilda’s family decides to move away, and Miss Honey adopts Matilda to live
together as a happy family

My Opinion
I enjoyed reading Matilda! It’s a fun and exciting story about a little girl who is
smarter than all the adults around her. I liked how Matilda used her brain and her
magic powers to solve problems and help her friends. Miss Trunchbull is so mean
that it’s almost funny, and I loved it when Matilda played tricks on her. Miss
Honey is Matilda’s sweet and caring teacher. Meanwhile, Miss Trunchbull is the
cruel and offensive Matilda’s school. My favourite scene was when Miss
Trunchbull pulled Amanda’s pigtails. I will highly recommend this story to
everyone. I will rate this story a solid
