Project & Synopsis Frequently Asked Questions


Question What is the schedule of dates for submission of project report/ dissertation/
internship report?
Answer Project report/ dissertation/ internship report submitted by 31st May will be considered
for June TEE, tentatively scheduled to be held during 1stJuly to 15th August and project
report / dissertation/ internship report submitted by 30th Nov, it will be considered for
December TEE, tentatively scheduled to be held during 1st Jan. to 15th February.
Question What is the last date of submission of
project/journal/dissertation/internship/Workbook?
Answer The last date for submission of project/journal/dissertation/internship/ Workbook is
31st May/30th November. Students are advised not to wait for the last date and submit
it as soon as possible. For online submission of project/journal/dissertation/internship/
Workbook, students of BCA, MCA, MCA_NEW, MAPC, BA(PSY), BAPCH, MAAE, PGDMH,
PGDSS, PGDET, BLIS, MLIS, BBARL, BBARIL may use the link available at home page of
IGNOU website or submit hard copy at Regional Centre Delhi-2.
Question What is meant by Project/ dissertation/ Synopsis?
Answer Any project work has to be planned. A write up of the planning is the synopsis. It should
contain the summary of the work to be performed, the execution, plan and the
expected outcome.
Question How can a select a Project Guide/Supervisor?

Answer In general, the Academic Counsellors can act as Project Guide/Supervisor in their
respective disciplines.
Question How to select a topic for the project?
Answer Students should select their topics on their own, however they are advised to go
through the Guidelines mentioned in the project manuals.

Question How can a student know the eligibility criteria for selection of Project/ Dissertation
Guide/supervisor?
Answer It varies from program to program. Students are requested to follow the eligibility
criteria for choosing the guide/supervisor for synopsis/project/dissertation/ internship
as given in the concerned program/project/internship handbook guide.
Question Is it necessary to get the approval of the project guide along with that of the
synopsis?

Answer Yes, students need to get the approval of their project guide and then submit the
synopsis for approval to their Regional Centre. It is advised that students should obtain
approval from their guide and RC before start working on project report/dissertation.
Question How much time does a project coordinator/ evaluator take to check a project
synopsis?
Answer It varies from program to program. It also depends on the quality of proposal/synopsis.
Question Where can students of MAPC program submit their synopsis?
Answer Students of Regional Center Delhi 2 may submit MAPC synopsis in spiral binding with all
necessary original and signed certificates mentioned in the Project guidelines at
Regional Centre Delhi-2.
Question What is the criteria for submitting the synopsis of MAPC Program?
Answer MAPC students are required to complete and pass the courses MPC005 and MPC006 in
1st year before submitting the synopsis.
Question Where can students of BCA, MCA, MCA_NEW, MCOM, MBA Programs submit their
synopsis?
Answer Students of BCA, MCA, MCA_NEW, MCOM, MBA Programs of Regional Center Delhi2
may submit in spiral binding with all necessary original and signed certificates
mentioned in the Project guidelines at Regional Centre Delhi-2.
Question In which programs, synopsis and project report/ dissertation are not submitted to the
Regional Centre?
Answer Synopsis and project report/ dissertation of the following programs are not submitted
at Regional Centre:
MLIS, MAAN, MAGD, MAWGS, MADE, MARD, MAJMC, MBA, MCOM, MEOH, MAEDU,
MTTM, BTS, PGDRD, PGDDM, PGDFSQM, PGDT, PGDCJ, PGJMC, PGDUPDL, PGDPM,
PGDWGM, PGDSS, PGCPP, DAFE, CTPM, AHE01, AMT01, APM01 etc. Synopsis and
project report/ dissertation of these programs are to be submitted at the respective
School of Study at the IGNOU, HQs, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi through the concerned
study center only.
Question Applying the online examination form is mandatory for appearing in the Viva-Voce of
MAPC internship and project or not?
Answer The students of MAPC programs must pay online fee to appear for TEE in
project/internship Viva-Voce as per prescribed fee of the university, while submitting
their online exam forms.
Question What is the requirement during the submission of MAPC internship?

Answer Award given by agency supervisor and academic counsellors in sealed envelope
separately (forwarded by coordinator of concerned LSC) at the Regional Center is
mandatory during submission of the MA Psychology internship.
Question What is the requirement during submission of project report of MAEDU/BCA/MCA to
Regional Center?
Answer One copy of project report along with approved synopsis (forwarded by coordinator of
concerned LSC) is required for Viva-Voce as per schedule.
