I. Introduction
II. Objectives
III. Rationale
1. Selection Process
The Grade 7-BONIFACIO section will be composed of students who show
strong potential or existing skills in sports. The selection process will
involve the following:
o Students may apply or be nominated by coaches or teachers.
o Selection criteria will include athletic performance, commitment to
sports, and academic standing.
o Tryouts will be conducted for various sports disciplines (e.g.,
basketball, volleyball, badminton, athletics) to assess skill levels.
2. Sports and Academic Curriculum
The PE classes for Grade 7-BONIFACIO will be designed to meet both
DepEd’s academic standards and the needs of student-athletes:
o Specialized physical education classes and sports science will be
integrated into the sports subject.
o Sports coaches will coordinate with teachers to ensure that students
are given the appropriate balance between their academic and
athletic workloads.
3. Training Program
o Daily and Weekly Training: Athletes will undergo daily training
sessions with qualified coaches. Each week, specific sports will be
assigned training hours, with a focus on individual skill-building and
teamwork.
V. Sustainability Measures
The creation of the Grade 7-BONIFACIO sports section will provide a unique
opportunity for San Jose National High School to nurture its student-athletes in a
holistic, structured, and sustainable manner. Through this initiative, the school
will not only continue to excel in athletic competitions but also foster students’
academic and personal growth. By investing in the talents and potential of our
athletes, we are investing in the future of San Jose National High School as a
center of excellence in both sports and education.
