1. Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial (a) 9x2 - 6x + 1 (b) x2 - 2 and verify the
relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients.
2. If α and β are zeros of polynomial x2 -5x + 6, then find a quadratic polynomial whose zeros

3. Theorem: Prove that lengths of tangents drawn from an external point to a circle are equal.
4. Two concentric circles are of radii 5 cm and 3 cm. Find the length of the chord of the larger
circle which touches the smaller circle.
5. Prove that the parallelogram circumscribing a circle is a rhombus.
6. Prove that opposite sides of a quadrilateral circumscribing a circle subtend supplementary
angles at the centre of the circle.

17. The co ordinates of 3 vertex of ∆𝐴𝐵𝐶 are (1,2) (-3,4) and (7,-8). Find the co ordinates of
centroid.
18. Given that √2 is irrational, prove that 5 + 3√2 is an irrational number

23. The angle of elevation of an aero plane from a point on the ground is 60⁰. After a flight of
30 seconds, the angle of elevation becomes 30⁰. If the aero plane is flying at a constant height
of 3000√3 meters, find the speed of the aeroplane.
24. The angle of elevation of a cloud from a point 60 m above the lake is 30° and the angle of
depression of the reflection of the cloud in the lake is 60°. Find the height of the cloud.
25. The angles of elevation and depression of the top and bottom of a light-house from the top
of a 60 m building are 30⁰ and 60⁰ respectively. Find
(a) the difference between heights of light-house and building.
(b) The distance between the light-house and building.

(ii) The area of each sector of the brooch.
40. A pen stand is made of wood in the shape of cuboid with three conical depressions to hold
the pens. The dimensions of the cuboid are 15 cm by 10 cm by 3.5 cm. The radius of each
of the depression is 0.5 cm and the depth is 1.4 cm. Find the volume of wood in the entire
stand.
41. Find the values of k for which the quadratic equation, kx (x−3)+9=0 has real and equal roots.

45. A vertical pole of length 6 m casts a shadow 4 m long on the ground and at the same time a
