Overview

The modern aviation industry has evolved from a mere means of transportation
to a pillar of a nation’s advancement and a necessity for global integration. This
fundamental industry constitutes a vital part within a country’s infrastructure
and is an indicator of development. Its impact on communications, trade, and
tourism means that its operability is critical. Regardless, this field has not been
immune to internal and external threats; strikes, limited buying power of
customers, war, and the recent pandemic have been proof of this. That is why
the human capital this sector employs must be equipped to deal with its
challenges. The field is dynamic and fast-paced, with roles such as pilots, air
traffic controllers, ground staff, security officer, technicians, and managers, all
collaborating to ensure safe and efficient travel. With this in mind, the language
utilised to coordinate these operations becomes paramount. That is why Aviation
English becomes not a just a tool for communicating, but sustaining this central
industry, especially in a globalised world where the lingua franca has been
established as English. No matter which role you intend to play within the
Aviation industry, you will require knowledge of the English language involved.
