workshop workshop
1.1 Hydraulic Car Lift
A hydraulic car lift is a type of mechanical device used in automotive workshops and service
centers to raise vehicles off the ground, allowing technicians to perform inspections,
maintenance, and repairs with ease. These lifts rely on hydraulic pressure generated by fluid
to create force, making them highly efficient for lifting heavy loads such as cars, SUVs, and
trucks. Hydraulic lifts come in various designs, such as two-post lifts, four-post lifts, scissor
lifts, and in-ground lifts, each suited for specific workshop applications.
The core mechanism of a hydraulic lift involves the use of hydraulic fluid inside a cylinder.
When pressure is applied, the fluid forces a piston to move, lifting the vehicle. The lift lowers
when the pressure is released, allowing the fluid to return to the reservoir. This system is
known for being smooth, reliable, and capable of lifting heavy vehicles with minimal effort.
High Load Capacity: Can lift cars, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles.
Smooth Operation: Fluid-based mechanics provide consistent and controlled movement.
Safety Mechanisms: Includes locking systems to prevent accidental lowering.
Durability: Hydraulic systems are robust, with minimal wear over time.
Space-Efficient: Available in compact designs like scissor lifts for workshops with limited space.
1.2 Tyre Changer
A tyre changer is an essential piece of equipment used in automotive workshops and service
centers to mount and dismount tires from wheels safely and efficiently. It simplifies the
process of replacing worn-out tires, repairing punctures, or switching between seasonal tires.
Modern tyre changers come with advanced features such as pneumatic assistance, automatic
controls, and bead-breaking tools, making the process quicker and reducing the risk of
damaging the tire or rim.
Turntable: Rotates the wheel to help in mounting and dismounting the tire.
Bead Breaker: A tool used to separate the tire from the wheel’s rim.
Mounting Arm: Assists in fitting or removing the tire from the wheel.
Inflation System: Equipped with a pressure gauge to inflate the tire to the correct
pressure.
Pedal Controls: Used to operate the turntable and bead breaker for hands-free operation.
1.3 Wheel Balancer
A wheel balancer is a crucial machine used in automotive workshops to ensure that the
weight of a vehicle’s wheel is evenly distributed around its axis. Balanced wheels are essential
for smooth driving, as imbalanced wheels can cause vibrations, uneven tire wear, poor fuel
efficiency, and compromised safety. The process of wheel balancing involves identifying areas
where additional weight is needed and attaching small balancing weights to the rim to correct
the imbalance.
Mounting the Wheel: The tire and wheel assembly is mounted on the wheel balancer.
Spinning the Wheel: The machine rotates the wheel to detect any imbalance by measuring
vibrations or weight differences.
Displaying Imbalance: It calculates and displays the exact areas where weights are needed.
Adding Weights: Technicians attach small lead or steel weights to the wheel rim to correct the
imbalance.
Rechecking Balance: The wheel is spun again to ensure it is properly balanced.
1.4 Tyre Alignment (Wheel Alignment)
Tyre alignment or wheel alignment is the process of adjusting the angles of a vehicle's wheels
to ensure they are perfectly aligned with the manufacturer's specifications. Proper alignment
ensures that the wheels point in the right direction and work in unison, providing a smooth
driving experience, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced tire wear. Misaligned wheels can
result in uneven tire wear, poor handling, and increased fuel consumption, making routine
alignment checks a vital part of vehicle maintenance.
Camber:
The tilt of the wheel, either inward (negative camber) or outward (positive camber).
Incorrect camber causes uneven tire wear on the inner or outer edges.
Caster:
The angle of the steering axis when viewed from the side.
A positive caster enhances stability, while a negative caster can make steering unstable.
Toe:
The angle at which the wheels turn inward or outward when viewed from above.
Toe-in means the wheels are closer at the front, and toe-out means they are farther apart.
1.5 Engine Room
The engine room at Sandeep Hyundai workshop is a dedicated area where specialized
technicians perform engine diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls. This facility ensures that
engines, the heart of every vehicle, operate at optimal performance. Equipped with advanced
diagnostic tools and repair equipment, the engine room caters to a range of services, from
minor tune-ups to complex engine overhauls.
The parts assembly area in Sandeep Hyundai Workshop is a specialized section dedicated to
the installation, replacement, and management of vehicle components. This area ensures that
every repair or maintenance task is completed using genuine Hyundai parts, preserving the
vehicle’s performance, safety, and warranty compliance. From minor part replacements like
filters and wiper blades to complex assemblies involving transmission or suspension systems,
the parts assembly area plays a vital role in keeping vehicles roadworthy and reliable.
Preserves Warranty: Use of genuine parts ensures vehicle warranty is not voided.
Enhanced Performance: Proper part installation helps maintain the vehicle’s original
performance.
Cost Efficiency: Timely part replacement reduces the chance of future breakdowns and
costly repairs.
Customer Satisfaction: The use of genuine parts ensures customer trust and peace of
mind.
The paint booth is a dedicated, enclosed space where vehicles or parts are painted. It provides
a controlled environment to prevent dust, dirt, and other contaminants from compromising
the finish, ensuring a smooth, high-quality paint job.
Climate Control System: Regulates temperature and humidity to ensure proper curing
and application of paint.
