Explain why “a correlation does not prove causation.”

Dr. Boris has conducted a survey on weight and related multiple factors. You may find the Excel file
of the raw data on SOUL.

The data set has input of the following factors:

1. Gender: 1 stands for Male, and 2 stands for Female)


2. Weight (kg)
3. Height (cm)
4. Gym: 0 stands for ‘does not have the habit of going to gym’, and 1 stands for ‘have
the habit of going to gym’
5. Running: 0 stands for ‘does not have the habit of running’, and 1 stands for ‘have the
habit of running’
6. Meditation: 0 stands for ‘does not have the habit of meditation’, and 1 stands for
‘have the habit of meditation’
7. Sleeping Hour Per Day
8. Exercise Hour Per Week
9. Calorie Intake Per Day
10. Browsing Cellphone Hour Per Day

Help Dr. Boris to analyze the data set by answering the following questions:

1. How many participants are male and female? And how many participants have the
habits of going to gym; running; meditation?
2. What is the means of weight; height; sleeping hour per day; exercise hour per week;
calorie intake per day; browsing cellphone hour per day?
3. Are the significant gender differences of the number participant going to gym,
running, and meditation? For significant factor(s) indicate which gender has higher
number.
4. Considering all factors, which one(s) is(are) significantly correlation to weight?

In your report, you shall include screencaps of all tables while answering the above questions.
