DESKTOP PERSONAL COMPUTER

This is a computer that fit on top of a desk with its own operating system and a wide selection
of software intended to be used by one person at a time.

They included hard disk drive, 1.44Mb or 3.5” floppy drive, CD/DVD, R/W, Intergrated drives
electronics (IDE).

Input / Output ports can be serial, parallel, network or wireless.

These days Universal Serial Bus (USB) is the standard Serial bus used.
Network protocols include Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Token Ring, wireless Local Area
Network (WLAN) technology or wireless fidelity (wifi).

Features

A desktop personal computer is a microprocessor that uses a microprocessor as its Central

processing Unit (CPU). A typical desktop computer has a monitor, mouse, keyboard and other
peripherals which are optional.

These are mostly used for data processing and are ideal for most application at home or at
the office. They are one piece system very portable and are popular with travelers.

They have LCD (Liquid Crystal Display screen or Monitors.

They have smaller keyboard compare to desktop, united memory, showed hard disk drives
and half size slot for various peripheral; they are more expensive than desktop computers.
