Full job description: Mechanical Design Engineer
Experience Required: 10+ years (5+ years in new product development and manufacturing sectors)
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with over 10 years of experience in design engineering,
product development, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in new product development, machinery
manufacturing, fabrication, and a deep understanding of design software. Additionally, experience in creating BOM (Bill of Materials) and
cost estimation is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of new products from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, validate, and manufacture new machinery and products.
• Create detailed design drawings and models using AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.
• Conduct design calculations, stress analysis, and simulations to ensure design robustness.
• Prepare prototypes, conduct testing, and ensure designs meet all required specifications.
• Review and refine design proposals, considering manufacturing processes, material selection, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create BOM (Bill of Materials) for all projects, ensuring accurate and comprehensive part listings.
• Perform cost estimation for designs, working with procurement teams to optimize material and manufacturing costs.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Provide guidance and technical support to the manufacturing and fabrication teams during production.
• Continuously monitor and improve design processes for efficiency and innovation.
• Maintain clear and accurate design documentation and reports.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Mechanical) or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME).
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 5+ years specifically in new product development and
experience in machinery and fabrication manufacturing companies.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS for creating 2D and 3D design models and assemblies.
. Good communication skills
• In-depth understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience in creating BOMs and cost estimation for mechanical designs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically.
• Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes for various mechanical components and systems.
• Hydraulic knowledge is a significant advantage.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their integration into mechanical designs.
• Experience with additional design software and simulation tools is a plus.
• Experience working in machinery and fabrication manufacturing environments.
