MMTCL at the 15th Indian International

Refractories Congress (IREFCON 2024): Driving

Innovation Through Collaboration
We are proud to announce MMTCL’s participation in the 15th Indian
International Refractories Congress (IREFCON 2024), held at the
picturesque Taj Cidade De Goa, Horizon, Goa, India. This landmark event
brought together global leaders, innovators, customers and stakeholders from
the refractory industry to discuss cutting-edge advancements and sustainable
practices.
For the first time in our history, MMTCL presented three technical
presentations, underscoring our commitment to delivering innovative and
customer-centric energy savings solutions.
1. Improvised Back-Up Lining for Hot Metal Ladle at Tata Steel,
Kalinganagar, Odisha
This case study focused on an advanced back-up lining solution that enhances
durability, minimizes thermal losses, and improves operational efficiency—
significant strides toward green steel production.
"Energy savings and operational efficiency in high-temperature processes are
the cornerstone of building a sustainable future for the steel industry."
2. Superwool Plus: Reducing Hot Spots & Enhancing Process Efficiency
at RHI Magnesita, Bhiwadi,Rajasthan
This case study demonstrated how Superwool Plus addresses thermal
challenges by reducing hot spots, improving process efficiency, and enhancing
energy utilization. These benefits align with global goals of carbon neutrality
and greener industrial processes.
"Reducing thermal hotspots and optimizing heat management are critical for
lowering energy consumption and advancing sustainability."
3. The PYRO-BLOC Solution: Ensuring Trouble-Free Furnace Performance
at Jindal Stainless, Jajpur, Odisha
Our third case study highlighted the PYRO-BLOC system, which is designed for
seamless furnace operations. By optimizing thermal conductivity, this solution
ensures reliable performance, minimized downtime, and enhanced productivity.
"Optimizing thermal conductivity not only enhances furnace performance but
also plays a vital role in achieving industrial energy conservation goals."

Collaborative Success
A highlight of our participation was presenting these technical presentations
jointly with our esteemed customers—Tata Steel, RHI Magnesita, and Jindal
Stainless. These collaborative case studies exemplify how partnerships can
create impactful solutions for the refractory fraternity and beyond.
Addressing CO2 Emissions in the Refractory Industry
The refractory industry contributes approximately 1% of total CO2 emissions
worldwide, making it a critical area for innovation and sustainable practices. At
MMTCL, we are committed to helping our customers significantly reduce their
carbon footprint through cutting-edge refractory ceramic fibre solutions & new
age generation Low Bio Persistent fibre solutions.
"Our innovations, such as energy-efficient linings and advanced materials like
PYRO-BLOC Modules, are designed to curb CO2 emissions and support a
sustainable future for our customers and the industry."
Championing Sustainability and Innovation
IREFCON 2024 provided a platform for discussions on key themes shaping the
future of the industry, including:
 Energy Savings: Advanced technologies to reduce energy costs.
 Green Steel: Supporting decarbonization in steelmaking.
 Carbon Capture & Neutrality: Enabling materials for carbon
sequestration.
 Nano Technology: Leveraging advanced materials for superior
performance.
 Thermal Conductivity: Optimizing heat transfer and minimizing waste.
 Recycling: Promoting circular economy practices.
"The path to a sustainable future is paved with innovation, collaboration, and a
commitment to environmental stewardship."
Our Commitment to Excellence
MMTCL’s participation at IREFCON 2024 reinforces our dedication to driving
innovation, advancing sustainability, and building strong industry partnerships.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our customers, partners, and the event
organizers for making this a truly memorable experience.
