General Information
The hospital is situated at Hapania, Agartala, Tripura. It is located at about 18 km
away from Agartala Airport and 7 km away from Agartala city. The area is bordered by
neighbouring country Bangladesh, 1.5 km away from it. The ONGC and Tripura Jute Mill are
situated near this village. The village is with full of greenery having its natural flora and
fauna. The residents here are with low socio-economic status and avail the health care
facilities from this college and Hospital.

All the staffs have their uniform along with their identity card. White apron for
doctors along with their identity cards are mandatory during duty hours. The nurses, GDA,
Security, SCA have their respective dress code with identity cards for easy identifications.
Reception:
Reception is at the entrance of the main hospital building in the Out Patient
Department (OPD) Complex with proper sitting arrangement for the patient and relatives to
wait. The registration counter is opened for computerised registration from 8:00 AM to 1:00
PM from Monday to Saturday for normal scheduled OPDs and for special OPD till 4:00 PM.
No Registration Charges are taken for normal OPDs. Charges for the Special and Super
Speciality OPDs have to be submitted in Cash Counter. Registration counters give the
information as well as the registration card.
There are following counters for registration and enquiry:
New patient registration counter for providing ticket to attend respective OPD
Old (previously registered) patient Re-Registration Counter for attending
same OPD for follow up and providing new ticket on same registration
number for attending different OPD
Enquiry Counter to provide information regarding the special OPD, Super
Speciality OPD, special Surgical Procedures as well as for registration.
One Emergency Registration Counter for 24 hours service for weekdays as
well as holidays.
Operation theatre:
The operation theatre had been designed to ensure sterility. All the routine Operation as well
as the speciality operation is conducted with improved aseptic and antiseptic measures, with
sophisticated equipments utilized by the surgeons.
There are 10 numbers of Operation Theatres which includes Surgery (02),
Orthopaedics (02), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (02), Otorhinolaryngology (ENT- 01)
and Ophthalmology (Eye - 01), Casualty (Major OT – 1, Minor OT – 1)
Operation Theatre complexes are well maintained, situated at Ground Floor(Casualty
OT), First floor (Surgery, OBG, ENT, Eye) and Second floors (Orthopaedics)
There are patients waiting rooms, and recovery room
Optimum utilization of OT staffs including Nurses, technicians and attendants makes
the working environment favourable
Other medical professionals are called for help in times of need.
Essential pharmaceutical storage, instruments and other equipments are well
maintained by the in-charge OT nurse and staffs
Safer anaesthetic techniques are used during surgical procedures by the anaesthetics
Medical gases are available during the procedures. Storage of the gases are reserved
as gas cylinder for at least one extra day use
Facilities for laboratory investigations, blood from Blood Bank in times of need are
provided during operation
Fire safety measures are well maintained in OT
Waste disposal of the OT is well maintained by the cleaning staffs
Intensive care unit provides the services to the critically ill patients who require
invasive life support.
Blood Bank:
A full-fledged licensed blood bank is running round the clock in the hospital premises
to cater the patients need. Services rendered by blood bank are:
Blood of all the Groups are available in the Blood Bank
Emergency grouping and cross matching of blood sample is done before transfusion
Blood donation for the patient by the patient party
The blood bank is with component separation facilities for Fresh Frozen Plasma
(FFP), Packed Red Blood Cell (PRBC), Platelet Concentrate, and Cryoprecipitate.
Transfusion Transmitted Infection (TTI) testing done for HIV, HBV, HCV, RPR,
Malaria are done for the blood unit before preserving the blood in the bank
Voluntary Blood Donation Camp used to organised periodically to meet the shortfall
between the demand and supply

I. Bill Section: 24 hours billing for the investigations, patient admission and
discharge are run by the hospital in ground floor opposite to the Reception.
II. Medicine Counter: The hospital runs Generic Medicine Counter in Ground floor
opposite to Bill Section from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
V. Ambulance: 24 hours ambulance service is provided by the hospital. Ambulance
is running under the Emergency Department.
VI. Oxygen Manifold Room:
Provides 24 hours oxygen supply
Other are Nitrous Oxide and Vacuum Suction
VII. Medical Record Section (MRD):
MRD is well organised for keeping all the hospital records
Birth and Death Registrations are done
Any information helpful for previously treated patient can be obtained
Faculties and students can use for research purposes
VIII. Biomedical Department:
Biomedical Department is running round the clock for prompt and quick
management of the equipments used in the hospital
IX. Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and Laundry Services:
Adequately provides sterilised instruments, equipments and materials to
various wards
Regular every day collection, cleaning of linen and providing it to the
respective area
X. Electricity services:
24 hours electricity services with back-up services are provided
XI. Security Services:
Security services are all over in hospital premises for 24 hours round the
clock for security and to help the patient
