A. Read the text and answer the following questions! (Bobot 20)
Communication technology has evolved rapidly over the last century becoming more
advanced and efficient with each passing decade. In the early 20th century, the telephone
was considered revolutionary because it allowed people to communicate faster than writing
letters. However, the invention of mobile phones in the late 20th century made
communication even more convenient and accessible. Among all modern communication
tools, smartphones are arguably the most versatile. They are not only faster than traditional
telephones but also offer more features, such as internet browsing, video calling, and social
media access. In comparison to mobile phones from the 1990s, today’s smartphones are
smaller, lighter, and more powerful. They are also far cheaper relative to the advanced
technology they provide. Despite these advancements, not everyone agrees that modern
communication tools are better. Some argue that face-to-face communication is still the
most meaningful and effective way to build relationships. While smartphones are the most
commonly used device, they can sometimes create distractions and reduce personal
interactions. Ultimately, communication technology will continue to develop, becoming
faster, smarter and more integrated into daily life. The challenge lies in finding a balance
between convenience and meaningful connection.
