1.3 (a) I1 = 0.25 A

(b) V1 = 0.25 x 200 = 50 V
Va = 15 V
Vab = 0.25 x 40 = 10 V

2.1 2.5

2.2 700 nF

2.3 2040.05 V

2.4 (a) RT = 1250 Ω

(b) IS = 0.44 A
I1 = 0.33 A
I2 = 0.11 A
(c) P = 242 W

2.5 (a) I = 0.4 A

(b) Va = - 40(0.4) = -16 V
(c) P = 0.4x0.4x10 =1.6W

3.1 (a) RT = 10+12+8+30 = 60 kΩ

(b) IS = 2.5 mA
I1 = 1.5 mA
I3 = 0.83 mA
(c) V2 = 20 V

3.2 (a) IL = 0.531 A

4.1 V1 = 6 V
V2 = 30 V
V3 = 18 V
V4 = 12 V
Vab = 18 V

4.2 W = 810 (40x60) = 1 944 000 J

4.3 Cost = (3.6) (18/60) (23.2) = 25.056 ¢

4.4 R = ρl/A
RA = ρl/A = 4 Ω => ρl = 4 Ω cm2
RB = 4 Ω cm2/ 4 cm2= 1 Ω
