1 Objective
This handbook is a comprehensive guideline for interns at Trilegal, outlining the processes from confirmation
of the internship to the conclusion of the internship, and will also address the common FAQs.

2 Overview
The Trilegal Internship program is an enriching experience designed for law students from recognized
universities. This internship program offers an immersive experience in the diverse fields of legal practice,
providing an opportunity to refine skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

Confirmation Pre-onboarding Internship


Induction Day
Email Process Conclusion

Upon receipt of the internship confirmation email from Trilegal, the pre-onboarding process commences a
week before the joining date. The first day of the internship is virtual for all interns.

2.1 Pre-Onboarding Process


To ensure a smooth transition into the internship, crucial details regarding induction and onboarding,
including office location and mode of internship, will be shared in the pre-onboarding email.

2.1.1 IT Helpdesk
▪ The Trilegal IT team will contact the Intern to facilitate the setup of the official ID on or before the
induction day. Before this, please ensure that AnyDesk Software and a compatible Internet Browser
(Example: Chrome, Firefox) are installed on the personal laptops.
▪ For any technical issues post-onboarding, the Interns should contact the location-wise IT SPOCs.

▪ The Official Email ID shall be used strictly for official purposes ONLY.

2.2 Induction and Onboarding [Day of Joining]


▪ The first day will be hosted virtually.

▪ The meeting invite [Virtual/In-Person] for the Induction will be shared with you on the day of your joining
on your Official Trilegal email ID. The meeting will be held on ZOOM.
▪ The Interns should share their updated CV with the team including mentor, partner, and EA (their email
Ids will be marked on the onboarding email) on the day of joining.

▪ In case of delay or earlier induction, the same will be communicated to your personal email id.

▪ Mentor and Practice details will be shared with you on the day of joining.

2.3 PAN Card


▪ The Interns are mandatorily required to have a valid PAN Card before the commencement of their
internship. Those who do not have a PAN Card can initiate the process of applying for it online before the
commencement of Internship.

2.4 Internship Conclusion
▪ The Interns should submit the internship conclusion assignment and required documents like internship
worksheet and report via the Conclusion Form link, which will be shared a week before the internship
concludes. It is mandatory to maintain intern worksheet on daily basis.

▪ Post the completion of the internship, the Trilegal Internship team will share the Feedback link with the
mentors. The interns can expect to hear from the Trilegal Internships Team within 60 days of completion
of the internship on the next steps, if the feedback is positive.

▪ In case of an internship extension, the Intern should kindly seek approval from their mentor and share
the same approval at internships@trilegal.com. Ideally, extension submission requests should happen 4-
6 days before the internship conclusion date.

3 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


a. What will be my mode of internship?

Trilegal offers two modes of internship - hybrid and online (if requested). Hybrid mode involves 2/3 day’s
work from office based on convenience.
b. How can I know about my allocated internship location?

In the confirmation email, you'll be informed of the location of your allocated internship. The information
will be confirmed further in the pre-onboarding email, along with the allocated mode of internship. We
will try to accommodate the allocations based on the preferences shared; however, cannot guarantee
the same.

c. Does my internship come with a stipend?

Refer to the Onboarding Email received on the first day of Internship.

d. What should be done if I am willing to take up additional work?

If you are open to taking on additional tasks from lawyers beyond your assigned team, inform your
mentor. Additionally, fill out the 'Intern Bandwidth Survey' that will be rolled out twice a month. This
information will be shared with other lawyers in the firm, across the organization.

e. What must be done in case of non-availability of mentor/ not assigning work?

In case of the non-availability of mentor or not assigning work, reach out to the EA of the team requesting
a connect, copying the same to internships@trilegal.com. If there is no response even after a week, write
to us at internships@trilegal.com, copying your mentor.

f. How does the feedback process work?

The collation of feedback takes time and is completely taken care of by the Internships Team. Due to the
large volume of interns per month, we will only be able to revert to the interns who have a Call Back or
PPO recommendation, within 45-60 days, post completion of your internship.

g. When will I receive my internship completion Certificate?

Upon completion of your internship, you can expect to receive your internship completion certificate
within 60 days.

h. When can I expect to receive my stipend?

The stipend processing will be completed within 60 days of the conclusion of your internship with the
firm, only if all the documents requested are properly submitted. In case of any discrepancy in the
documents, please expect another 45 days of delay.

To ensure the smooth processing of stipend, please provide the scanned copy of your - a) bank proof
(cancelled cheque/ passbook image), and - b) PAN card along with the relevant filled ITR Document, The
template is provided in the Onboarding Kit.

i. What should be done if I do not possess a PAN card?


If you do not possess a PAN card, submit a duly signed document, declaring the same.

j. Is there a library database available?


Yes, the library database is available to all the interns over the Trilegal WI-FI or the Guest Wi-Fi, which
can be accessed on your office visit days in the Hybrid mode of Internship.
k. Will I be permitted to change my team during the internship?

Allocations are subject to availability of intern positions and team requirements. Hence, team change, at
any point during the internship is strictly not allowed, whereas Mentor change is possible only when
current allocated Mentor is not available.
l. Can I shift to a new team after I complete my first internship with the allocated team?

The change of team after completion of the first internship shall be considered as the fresh first-time
internship if the allocated practice area/ team is different from the desired team.

In case the intern has worked extensively with any other team, having the same practice area as that of
the allocated one, then a team change is permissible and possible based on the permission of the Mentor
and the Partner.

m. Can I shift to a new team after I complete my Call Back internship with the allocated team?

The change of team after completion of the Call Back internship shall be considered as the fresh first-
time internship if the allocated practice area/ team is different from the desired team. In case the intern

has worked extensively with any other team, having the same practice area as that of the allocated one,
then a team change is permissible and possible based on the permission of the Mentor and the Partner.

n. How long is the internship duration?

The internship duration typically includes a 4-weeks' timeframe. Any extension would be granted on a
specific request from mentor.

For Call Back internship extension, feedback of both, the Partner and Mentor will be considered.
