Important Dates

Nomination and Application Procedure
Qualified students will be selected and nominated by our partner
universities
▶ Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth(MM/DD/YYYY), Email Address,
Nomination
Desired department/major of Study, and intended Term of Study etc.
▶ No minimum language score or CGPA requirement from GWNU, but
respect a partner university’s nomination criteria.
Incoming Exchange students should prepare required documents as

▶ An official acceptance package will be sent to accepted students,
containing an Acceptance Letter, Certificate of Admission, and visa
documents [D-2]

▶ Accepted students are advised to wait to make travel plans and
embassy/consulate visits until they have received their official
acceptance package.

- Original bank statement with an amount of USD6,000(for a semester) or USD12,000 (for 2 semesters)
or above (Korean or English)
- Submit bank statement in the name of applicant’s own name or parent’s name (If applicant’s bank
statement is under parent’s name, the applicant must submit family relationship certificate and
parent's passport)
- Applicant’s or parent’s English name on the statement must be exactly matched with the passport name.

Health Insurance
Insurance Type Korean National Health Insurance
Mandatory nation-wide insurance for all international students including
exchange students staying in Korea for more than 3 months. Required to
General Information purchase even with a similar insurance coverage from a student’s home
country. Keep in mind that those who completed the alien registration will be
eligible for the service.

▶ For exchange students arriving in Gangneung on a predetermined date, we offer a free airport
pick-up service.
▶ In order to arrange a pick-up date, students must first contact GWNU's exchange program
coordinator. Once an exchange student has purchased a flight ticket, he or she must inform the
exchange coordinator immediately.
▶ It is not possible for the pick-up team to wait for students who do not arrive at the designated
place on time. If you miss the designated pick-up time, it is recommended that you use public
transportation to reach Gangneung and check into a dormitory.

Tuition Waiver
▶ GWNU offers not only waiving tuition fee but also Korean Language School(1 or 2 semesters) for
