The diagram shows the process of recycling plastic bottles.

The diagram illustrates the recycling process of plastic bottles. Overall, recycling plastic bottles is a
cyclical process that consists of nine steps, starting with collecting bottles and ending up with
producing new end products.

It can clearly be observed from the process that recycling starts when an individual places the
rubbish in a designated recycling bin before being loaded into specialised garbage trucks. After
being transported to the recycling centre, the plastic bottles are manually sorted and tightly
compressed to form blocks. A crusher machine then breaks down the blocks into small pieces,
subsequently cleaned to remove any residue.

The following steps involve transforming these pieces into reusable material. The pieces of plastic
are initially poured into a machine that turns them into pellets. These pellets are then heated to
create a raw material that can be used to manufacture products ranging from clothes and bottles to
containers. After these products are used, they go through the recycling process all over again.
