something very special. We see different houses everywhere,
right? Yes teacher!
What do they look like?
Okay Jella
( Jella raising her hands)
Let’s test how good you are at constructing shapes to form a
house.
Now, we are going to create houses using shapes!
Are you ready? They are beautiful teacher, different color and shapes.
Now, I will divide you into two teams: Team Geo and Team
Metry. The materials are already provided here in front of you.
Negros Oriental State University
College of Teacher Education

All you need to do is build your own house. We will play some
music, and when the music stops, it means time is up. Yes, Teacher! That sounds fun!
This side will be the group 1 and this will be the group 2!

You look so prepared! Let's start!

(Music play)

(The teacher is walking around and observing the students while Group 1: Geo's House. Group 2: Metry's
they are doing the activity.)

(The music Stops)

Are you done class?

( The students finish to build their house)
Okay go back to you seats!

Are you having fun in doing the activity? Yes Teacher!

Before we continue, let me ask you: based on the activity we just Yes teacher!
did, what do you think our lesson will be about today?

Okay , almost there! How about your observations in the two

houses?

Okay Dave, what's your idea?

Exactly! You got it right Dave!
So class do you have already idea what our lesson for today?
(Dave raising his hand)
Okay Jearaldine! Share your Ideas.

Very Good Jearaldine! So class our Lesson for today is about I observed that Geo's House can stand alone, while Metry's House
Four basic shapes in 2D (flat) and 3D (solid) cannot.

( Jearaldine raising her hand)

Teacher I think our lesson for today is about shape that are flat and
Solid.
B. Review of Previous Lesson F. Activity No.2 (Shape-tastic Race)
or Presenting New Lesson
(7 minutes)
Okay, class, we have another activity,! We'll call it "Shape-tastic
Race."
I need two volunteers to come to the front. Bea and lovell raise their hand)
Okay, Lovelle and Bea, please come here in front!
Negros Oriental State University
College of Teacher Education

(Lovelle and Bea come to the front.)

Here are the instructions:
As you can see, we have different cutouts pasted on the floor.
Both of you will stand at the starting line. I will pick different
objects with various shapes from this box, and you will identify
whether each object is flat or solid. The first one to guess
correctly takes a step forward. The first to reach the finish line
will be the winner!
Do you understand? Yes Teacher!
( The studens are enjoying the activity)
( Teacher continue the activity)
Okay we have a winner! So Jella wins!
Thank you bea and Jella, you did a great Job! You can go back to Thank you Teacher!
your seat.

What have you observed in the Activity?

( Jean raise her hand)
Okay Jean!Share your ideas!
I observed teacher that there are objects that has different shape and
also objects that are flat and Solid.
Fantastic! We can see different shape in the sorroundings in a
form of different object and it has also different Dimensions, So
let us Descover what are those object in four basic shapes in 2
dimensional and 3 Dimensional.

C. Presenting Examples/ G. Activity No.3 (Look Around)

Instances of the New For the next activity, Groups 1 and 2 will remain the same.
Lesson Examine the classroom and, working as a team, locate four
(7 minutes) objects representing basic shapes: circles, squares, triangles, and
rectangles. Collect the object and determine whether each is flat
(two-dimensional) or solid (three-dimensional).
Are you ready! Yes Teacher?
(Music plays) ( The students start to look around and find different objects)
Are you all done?
Yes Teacher!
I need representative each group to describe what object, shapes,
and dimensions did you collect! (Amaya bring their objects)
Group 1 will come first!
My group collect ball and it is circle and Solid
We have also books and it is rectangle and Flat
Great Job! Group 1 , thank you Amaya for representing your
group.

Next group 2,
( Jella come in front)
Okay Gift present your objects! My group collect a ruler and it is triangle and flat
We have also present box, and it is rectangle and it is Solid

Okay, thank you gift and group two, You all did a great Job!
Negros Oriental State University

So now arre you ready in our discussion ?

Yes Teacher!

D. Discussion H. Discussion
(25 minutes)
Four Basic shapes in 2D and 3D objects

Activity 4: Shape Explorer

As you observe here in front there are two houses and we named it as
Geo's house and Metry's house.
We have also a table at the center that consist random objects and all
we need to do is to put the objects with different shapes and their
corresponding house.you will going to put the 2d(flat)object in Geo's
house and 3d (solid)objects in Metry's house.
Group 1 will be assigned in Geo's House
Group 2 will be assigned in Metry's House
1 person only each group per objects

Are you ready?

Yes teacher!

(After the activity teacher start to discuss)

Great Job everyone!

As you can see their is 2 House and each house represent different
Dimensions
First Geo's House represent 3D

Yes teacher!
Negros Oriental State University
College of Teacher Education

When we say 3D (Three-dimensional): These are shapes or objects that

have three measurements: length, width, and height. They are not flat ( The students start the activity)
and can be touched or held.

As you can see the object in Geo's House that you arrange we have
ball, box, Rubik's cube, pyramid and etc. (Jella raising her hand)
What have you observed?
Okay Jella! The object can stand alone!
Very Good!

In Metry's House it represent 2D

When we say 2D (Two-dimensional): This means flat shapes, like a
drawing on paper. They have only two measurements: length and width.

In Metry's House we have flash card, board game, books and etc.
What have you observed?
(Jane raising her hand)
Did you observed the differences class?
Do you think you can already identify the four basic shapes in 2D and It can't stand alone!
3D objects?
Yes teacher!

Are you ready for our next Activity?

Yes we are

E. Activity Activity No. 5 (Guess Me, Name Me!)

(10 minutes)
Okay class, we're going to play a game called "Guess Me, Name
Me!"Same group again . Each group gets a red flag and a green
flag. (Teacher distributes flags)

Red flag means it's a flat shape or two dimensional object, like a
picture on paper. Green flag means it's a shape you can hold, the
3 dimensional object . Got it? Yes Teacher!

Remember, talk to your group. If you're not sure, guess

together! Ready for the first sentence class?

Okay, here we go: (Students discuss and raise flags)

1. It is like a drawing on a piece of paper, flat and thin.

Good job! That's a two dimensional object! Let's try another

one."

2.It is like a toy, you can hold it and see all sides. " (Students discuss and raise flags)

Excellent! That's a three dimensional object. Next sentence :

3. It is like a picture in a book, you can't touch it. (Students discuss and raise flags)

Great! It is2D object! One more:

4.It is like a ball, you can roll it and bounce it. (Students discuss and raise flags)

Very good! That's a 3D object.

Negros Oriental State University
College of Teacher Education

You all did a great job working together and identifying the
shapes!
In this activity we can name and describe the four basic shape in
2D and 3D objects. Yes Teacher!
Did you enjoy in participating the activity?

F. Generalizations Activity:Form The Shape Dance!

(5 minutes)
Ready for some fun activity! Yes Teacher!

Now,were playing "Form The Shape Dance".In this game,I will play some
music here and all of you will dance here in the center .You will
dance, shake your bodies if the music is playing, but when the music will Yes, teacher!(while walking from their chairs to the center)

(5 minutes) object.

V. Assignment For your assignment, list some objects that are in two and three
(2 minutes) dimensional shapes that you can find in your house.Write it in your (students writing)
