This module is presented on NQF level 6.

5% will be deducted from the student’s assignment mark for each calendar
day the assignment is submitted late, up to a maximum of three calendar
days. The penalty will be based on the official campus submission date.

Assignments submitted later than three calendar days after the deadline or
not submitted will get 0%. [1]

This is a group assignment.

Groups should consist of 3 – 4 members.

This assignment contributes 30% towards the final mark.

[1] Under no circumstances will assignments be accepted for marking after the assignments of other students have been marked and returned to the students.

2. Instructions to Students

1. Please ensure that your answer file (where applicable) is named as


follows before submission: Module Code – Assessment Type –
Campus Name – Student Number.
2. Remember to keep a copy of all submitted assignments.
3. All work must be typed.
4. Please note that you will be evaluated on your writing skills in all your
assignments.
5. All work must be submitted through Turnitin. The full originality report
will be automatically generated and available for the lecturer to
assess. Negative marking will be applied if you are found guilty of
plagiarism, poor writing skills, or if you have applied incorrect or
insufficient referencing. (See the "instructions to students" book
activity before this activity where the application of negative marking
is explained.)
6. You are not allowed to offer your work for sale or to purchase the
work of other students. This includes the use of professional
assignment writers and websites, such as Essay Box. You are
also not allowed to make use of artificial intelligence tools, such as
ChatGPT, to create content and submit it as your own work. If this
should happen, Eduvos reserves the right not to accept future
submissions from you.
7. One group member should be nominated to submit the assessment
on behalf of the group. Multiple submissions by various group
members will result in an inflated similarity index on Turnitin.

Assignment Format

 You must fulfil the requirements when writing and submitting


assignments as follows:
 Use Arial, font size 12.
 Include a title page, a table of contents and page numbers.
 Include the completed Assessment/Project Coversheet (available
on myLMS).
 Write no more than the maximum word limit.
 Ensure any diagrams, screenshots and PowerPoint presentations fit
correctly on the page and are referenced.
 Use the correct referencing method throughout the assignment.
 Include a bibliography based on the applicable referencing method at
the end of the assignment.
 Check spelling, grammar and punctuation.
 Run the assignment through Turnitin software.

Minimum Reference Requirements

At least five references for first year, ten references for second year and
fifteen references for third year.

Additional reading is required to complete this assignment successfully.


You need to include the following additional information sources:

 Printed textbooks/e-books
 Printed/online journal articles
 Academic journals in electronic format accessed via ProQuest or
other databases
 Periodical articles, e.g. organisation magazine articles
 Information or articles from relevant websites
 Other information sources, e.g. geographic information (maps),
census reports, interviews

Note

 It is crucial that students reference all consulted information sources by means of in-
text referencing and a bibliography, according to the applicable referencing method.
 Negative marking will be applied if a student commits plagiarism, i.e. using
information from information sources without acknowledgement of and reference to
the original source.
 In such cases, negative marking, also known as ‘penalty scoring’, is the practice of
subtracting marks for insufficient/incorrect referencing.
 Consult the table at the end of this document, which outlines how negative marking
will be applied as well as the way in which it will affect the assignment mark.

Plagiarism

 Every assignment must be submitted through Turnitin. The


similarity index in the originality report must be interpreted by the
lecturer and penalties applied accordingly.
 Negative marking must be applied if a student has not complied with
the minimum reference requirements and/or referencing style. See
the table at the end of this document in which negative marking is
explained.

Essays and Long Questions

 Answers to essay questions and longer questions must be written in


the requested format.
 In-text referencing must be provided in the answer.
 All information sources used in the assignment must be included in
the bibliography of the assignment.

Scope

This assignment covers weeks 1 – 7.

Guidelines

You are required to select any company and analyse its management
practices. Focus on how the company has adapted to changes such as
economic shifts, technological advancements, or social issues. Your report
should have, 2000-3000 words with an executive summary, detailed
analysis, and recommendations.

Instructions

Select any company that has recently undergone significant changes in


efforts to adhering to the refined management of today, the changes could
be informed by the COVID-19 pandemic, remote working, new advance
technology, etc. You are to analyse how this company have reshaped their
management practices in response to local and global challenges.

Technical Aspects

 Students should use the Harvard method of referencing as indicated


in the academic guide.
 The use of bullet points in an academic writing is strongly
discouraged.
 Do not use the first person in academic writing, that is, ‘I’ and ‘we’,
unless specifically asked for your opinion.

Marking Criteria

 Evidence of detailed research and evaluation of data from various


reliable sources.
 Preparation according to the guidelines provided.
 Skilled application of relevant environmental analysis tools including
explanations of why particular factors are relevant.
 Originality – evidence of your own ideas and analysis.
 Project Plan which does not reference at least ten sources as per the
brief will be marked out of only 50% rather than 100%.
 Plagiarism is a very serious matter, and if any part of your Project
Plan is found to be plagiarised, you risk a zero grade.
