Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with a focus on Civil Engineering to join
our team. This role involves overseeing and managing civil engineering projects, ensuring they are
completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in civil engineering principles, construction management, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination:
Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and consultants
to ensure smooth project execution.
Prepare and review detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with timelines and budget constraints.
2. Design & Technical Support:
Provide technical guidance and support in the planning, design, and construction phases of
civil engineering projects.
Review engineering designs and drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with
safety and environmental regulations.
Conduct feasibility studies, surveys, and site inspections as necessary.
Address and resolve any design or engineering issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
3. Quality & Safety Management:
Ensure all project activities adhere to established quality standards and engineering practices.
Monitor safety compliance on-site, ensuring all safety regulations and protocols are followed.
Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of work and identify potential issues or
delays.
Implement corrective actions when deviations from the project plan or quality standards occur.
4. Budget & Resource Management:
Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled, and expenses are tracked accurately.
Prepare and maintain cost estimates, track expenditures, and recommend changes when
necessary to stay within budget.
Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring the timely
delivery of resources.
Assist in managing project schedules and timelines, coordinating with contractors and suppliers
to avoid delays.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare regular progress reports for clients, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Maintain thorough project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests
for Information), and other critical project documents.
Ensure all necessary permits, inspections, and certifications are completed on time.
6. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and timely resolution of any project-
related issues.
Provide regular updates on project status, issues, and risks to both internal and external
stakeholders.
Participate in meetings, presenting project updates and managing expectations.
7. Problem Solving & Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks related to the project and propose mitigation strategies.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with the team to address unforeseen circumstances and implement solutions
promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is a plus.
3-5 years of experience in project engineering, with at least 2 years focused on civil
engineering projects.
Experience in managing construction projects (residential, commercial, infrastructure) is
desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project
management processes.
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and other engineering tools.
Solid understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
Willingness to travel to job sites, as needed.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in civil engineering is an
advantage.
