Force

The document defines force as a push or pull that can set an object in motion or halt it. It distinguishes between scalar quantities, which have only magnitude, and vector quantities, which include both magnitude and direction. Additionally, it categorizes forces into contact forces, such as normal and friction forces, and non-contact forces, like gravitational and electromagnetic forces.

FORCE – The push or a pull capable of setting an object in motion or

bringing it to halt.

SCALAR QUANTITY – Only magnitude

VECTOR QUANTITY – Both magnitude and direction
CARDINAL DIRECTIONS – North, south, east, anf west

TYPES OF FORCE
CONTACT FORCE – Involves direct physical contact
NORMAL FORCE – Excerted by a surface
APPLIED FORCE – Excerted directly on an object
FRICTION FORCE – Two surfaces slide past each other
TENSION FORCE – Excerted by the rope
SPRING FORCE – Present in springs
AIR RESISTANCE - Opposes the motion through air
BUOYANT FORCE – Excerted by a fluid
NON-CONTACT FORCE – Does not involve direct contact
GRAVITATIONAL FORCE – Massive object to another massive
object
ELECTROMAGNETIC FORCE – Can either be attractive or
repulsive
