THE INSTITUTION ASSESSES THE LEARNING LEVELS OF THE STUDENTS AND ORGANIZES SPECIAL
PROGRAMMES FOR ADVANCED LEARNERS AND SLOW LEARNERS

Sri Raaja Raajan college of Engineering and Technology admits students through

(i) Affiliated University (Anna University) counselling and

(ii) Admission based on Merit list prepared by Consortium of Self Financing Engineering Colleges.
Therefore, the admitted students represent a combination of bright students and average students. To help them to
cope up with the new learning environment, a number of measures are taken by the Institute for their betterment.

Library facility is available to all students and the learners of all categories are permitted to borrow the books from the
library for effective preparation and to collect extra references for the content presentation in the Examination.
Parents are invited in the middle of semester to interact with concerned Class advisors/ mentor and course handling
faculty members to discuss the progress of their wards.

Mentor-mentee relationship is followed in our institution. The mentor, herewith called Class Co-Coordinator has to
maintain a Students’ Record, to keep track of the records of the mentees. This is to help and to identify the slow
learners as well as the advanced learners from each batch of each year and every course.

During the pandemic period slow learners were motivated and focused to concentrate on important questions in the
entire respective subject and special hours were allotted through online mode.

Each type of students has different learning attitudes and learning habits. The objective of such assessment process
of the learning levels of the students is

● To identify the factors affecting the student’s performance.

● To analyze them with respect to the institutional framework.
● To provide a proper solution for improving their performance and to build a successful career
after thorough identification and analysis of the students.

Following records are to be maintained by Class Coordinator/mentor of each class:

(ii) Marks Statement (Internal Assessment and University Exams)
(iii) List of slow and advanced learners of their batch.
(iv) Remedial measures are taken and details (circulars and notices)
(v) Records of activities for both types of learners

2.1 Advanced Learners:

The following Special activities are conducted for Advanced Learners:

 Bright and diligent students are motivated and inspired to get university ranks.
 Semester toppers and university rank holders are honored with certificates and cash prizes.
 Encouraging to participate in various symposiums like quiz, poster presentation,
Conferences, inter institution competition etc.
 Guiding the students for GATE/Competitive Examinations.
 Guiding and encouraging to publish/present research papers in conferences/Journals.
 Training programs for gaining advanced technical knowledge.
 Guiding for career planning, new gen IEDC Project and TNSCST Project competition.

2.2 Slow Learners:

The following activities are conducted for slow Learners:

 Remedial classes conducted for Slow Learners.

 Special Coaching class and Counseling is given to slow learners.
 Previous year Question papers and Question Banks for all subjects are circulated among slow
learners.
 Students are given repeated practice on important questions.

2. During coaching monitoring the students through the improvement.
