Disassembly
1. Release the parking brake. For
more information, see section 206-05.
2. Loosen the wheel nuts.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. For more information, see
section 100-02.
4. Remove the wheel.

NOTE: If the dust cap is damaged during disassembly, it must be
replaced with a new one during assembly.
Remove the dust cover.

6. Z CAUTION: To avoid damage, use a socket to remove


the retaining nut.
Remove the hub retaining nut.

7. Z CAUTION: Make sure the wheel speed


sensor ring (if equipped) is not hit or
damaged when removing the hub assembly.
Remove the hub.

Facility
1. A CAUTION: Make sure the wheel speed sensor
ring (if equipped) is not hit or damaged,
and is free of metal fragments when
installing the hub assembly.
CAUTION: Rotate the hub assembly in the opposite
direction when tightening the hub retaining
nut.
Assemble the components by following the
disassembly procedure in reverse order.

3. Apply the parking brake. For


more information, see section 206-05.

1. Remove the hub. For more information, see the
Wheel Hub procedure. included in this section

2. NOTE: The anti-lock brake (ABS) sensor ring must be discarded.


Remove and discard the ABS sensor ring.

3. Remove the retaining ring.

4. Remove the bearing using a suitable puller.

Facility
1. CAUTION: Support the drum until the wheel
studs are off the surface.
Using the special tool, mount the new bearing.
2. Install the retaining ring.

3. WARNING: A new ABS ring must be installed.


Failure to follow these instructions may
result in injury.
NOTE: Make sure the mounting surfaces are not dirty
or corroded.
Install a new ABS ring.
• Use a non-ferrous flat block.
• Be sure to press the ring slowly and at a right
angle.
• Press the ABS ring with a load not exceeding 10
KN.
