1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and questions no. 19 and 20 are
Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02 marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05 marks each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study based questions carrying 4 marks each with sub parts
of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Question of Section B, 2 Questions of
Section C and 2 Questions of Section D has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in all
the 2 marks questions of Section E.

28. If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct 3
points, the other two sides are divided in the same ratio. Prove.
29. The altitude of a right triangle is 17 cm less than its base. If the hypotenuse is 25 cm, find the 3
other two sides.

31. A round table cover has six equal designs as shown in given Fig. If the radius 3

32. Solve the pair of equations 3x – 2y – 6 = 0 and 2x – 3y + 6 = 0 graphically and find the area of 5
triangle formed between the lines and the x-axis.
33. From a balloon vertically above a straight road, the angles of depression of two cars at an 5
instant are found to be 45° and 60°. If the cars are 100 m apart, find the height of the balloon.

The angle of elevation of the top of a tower from certain point is 30°. If the observer moves 20
metres towards the tower, the angle of elevation of the top increases by 15°. Find the height of
the tower.

36. The students of a school decided to beautify the school on the Annual Day by fixing colourful 4
flags on the straight passage of the school. They have 27 flags to be fixed at intervals of every 2
m. The flags are stored at the position of the middle most flag. Akshra was given the
responsibility of placing the flags. Akshra kept her books where the flags were stored. She
could carry only one flag at a time.
i) How many flags are fixed each side of the centre flag? 1

the ground as shown in the figure.
Based on the above information, answer the following

38. The Great Stupa at Sanchi is one of the oldest stone 4
structures in India, and an important monument of Indian
Architecture. It was originally commissioned by the
emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. Its nucleus was a
simple hemispherical brick structure built over the relics of
the Buddha. It is a perfect example of combination of solid
figures. A big hemispherical dome having base radius 14m
with a cuboidal structure mounted on it of dimensions 8m
x 6m x 4m. (Take π = 22/7)
