ROMEO AND JULIET

ROLEPLAY SCRIPT

The story of Romeo and Juliet begins in the town of Verona,

Italy. Where there lived two powerful families that were sworn
enemies; The Montagues and Capulets.

ACT ONE; SCENE ONE

( some people are walking along the street, then suddenly there’s
people fighting; Montagues and Capulets fighting )
MERCUTIO: Look! It’s the Capulets – over there

(after a minutes of fighting Prince Escalus on his way to the

fight that was going on)

GUARD: Stop! Prince Escalus is coming!

PRINCE ESCALUS: ENOUGH!....Listen all of you! You have
threaten the peace of my town and disrupt civilians’ lives
here….If I hear another fight or brawl between Montagues and
Capulets, it shall be punish and put in prison for life! Off you go
now!
(people start to leaves)
PRINCE ESCALUS: I worry about the hatred between
Montagues and Capulets…I wonder what younger generations
make his rivalry!
PRINCE ESCALUS: Don’t the Montagues and Capulets have
a child?
GUARD: Yes majesty. Montague's son is Romeo while
Capulets' son is Juliet
PRINCE ESCALUS: Wow! Romeo and Juliet (Prince Escalus
said in a romantic sound)

ACT TWO; SCENE TWO

(Benvolio went to meet Romeo; in the room while romeo is

writing something)

BENVOLIO: Romeo! Romeo!...I have been looking for you

since morning, let’s go to town because there’s fun going on
there.
ROMEO: Fun?... how can I be happy if I can't see my beloved
woman? (romeo said in calm and sad emotions)
BENVOLIO: Beloved woman?...are you inlove romeo?...With
who?
( Romeo sighs)
BENVOLIO: What is her name?
ROMEO: Rosaline. Rosaline is her name
BENVOLIO: What a beautiful name! Rosaline.
ROMEO: But she doesn’t love me. She already vowed to marry
another ( romeo sighs ). You cannot force someone to fall in
love with you, Benvolio.
BENVOLIO: If Rosaline doesn’t understand your intention and
love for her, It’s her lose my brother.
BENVOLIO: Forget her romeo…learn to follow the time, the
right woman for you will come, just wait brother.

ACT THREE; SCENE THREE

TYBALT: Wealth, repute, stature, family history and standing

us the Capulets have it all! (smirk and laugh). I vowed to protect
this!. GUARD! ( take the invitation and hands it to the guard)
TYBALT: These are the lists that are invited to our ball. Give
this to them. I want speacial invitations gone to each one of
them and also Count paris will come too. I wish to get him to
marry juliet. Our family name will elevate even more!
(Guard Leaves)
ACT FOUR: SCENE FOUR

While Romeo walking on the street. Mercutio came and

accompanied him

MERCUTIO: Romeo !...A beautifulday isn’t?

MERCUTIO: Romeo? Still thinking of your rosaline huh?.
Love is the most beautiful and precious emotion upon earth! If
this makes you sad with your love on Rosaline then ask yourself
“Is it really true love”.

(Benovolio came by running and hand an invition to romeo)

BENOVOLIO: Romeo!!
(romeo look at benovolio)
ROMEO: Oh! Benovolio, what's wrong and why are you short
of breath?
BENOVOLIO: :Look I saw an invitation while I was traveling
in town earlier, here read it.
(Benovolio gave the invitaion to romeo)
ROMEO: Livia, Lucio, Tybalt, Count Paris, Rosaline..? What
list is this?
BENOVOLIO: Guest list for the ball at the Capulet’s, if we’re
not montague, we are invited as well!.
MERCUTIO: We have to go to the ball because Romeo's
beloved is there, for Romeo to see it.
BENOVOLIO: Easy for you to say but we’re not Capulets!.
I’m not stepping in that house families of Capulets!
(while walking)
MERCUTIO: But we must go, for Romeo! So he relishes in the
fact that we crashed we Capulet’s party. We will wear masks
anyways because it’s a masquerade ball.
BENOVOLIO: Fine! Alright! I am in! and you Romeo are not
allowed to say no too!
ROMEO: Fine. But we return soon so we don’t get caught and
we don’t fight anyone there.

ACT FIVE; SCENE FIVE

At the Capulet’s Masquerade ball

( Tybalt enters )
TYBALT: Noblemen and women of Verona! Good day and
welcome to our ball! Let the ball dancing begin.
People are dancing calmly and joyful.
MERCUTIO: The Capulet’s can throw party because they are
so powerful in Verona. (Mercutio whisper)
BENOVOLIO: Romeo, go find your Rosaline to have a dance
partner.
BENOVOLIO: While me and Mercutio will help ourselves
with some wine and foods.
BENOVOLIO: Let’s go! Mercutio.
ROMEO: Wait, I don’t want- (Romeo sighs)

While Romeo’s trying to find Rosaline. Lord Montague and Lady

Montague with Juliet approach Count Paris.

LORD MONTAGUE: Count Paris!

LADY MONTAGUE: We would l like you to meet my
daughter, Juliet.
COUNT PARIS: Thank you your majesty (bown down to lord
and lady montague)
COUNT PARIS: Hello Juliet, you’re the most beautiful woman
I've seen in Verona. My lady
COUNT PARIS: May I have the pleasure of a dance?
Juliet looks at count paris anxiously
JULIET: U..h…uhm oh Sure!
They both dance in the center of the ball, Count paris talked to
Juliet while dancing.
COUNT PARIS: I'm leaving Verona soon to travel in another
kingdom.
COUNT PARIS: but I need to get married before that.
COUNT PARIS: What about your plan?
JULIET: I plan to find my true love first.
COUNT PARIS: True Love? (laughing). Does that even exist!
JULIET: Yes! For those who only believe it.
After a minutes of dancing and talking.
JULIET: Excuse me, can I go and get something to drink?
COUNT PARIS: Okay, anything for you my lady.

When Juliet left; getting something to drink. Romeo saw juliet

(love at first sight)
ROMEO: HI lady can I ask if would you like to dance with me?
JULIET: Oh! Sure…

They both then dance

ROMEO: My heart has either stoppped beating or forgotten
how to beat when I saw you my lady.
JULIET: Wouldn’t you be dead if it’s true?(giggles)
ROMEO: The beauty of you lady is almost too much to bear,
and it is hard to imagine that anyone would be able to stand
against its power while still surviving.
JULIET: Who are you again mister?
ROMEO: I am longing wanderer and you are my precious high
JULIET: That’s a big talk (giggles).
ROMEO: My name is Romeo, and you my lady?
JULIET: Juliet, I’m Juliet.
While dancing Romeo kissed Juliet in the cheeks (pretend lang
pero hindi talaga ikikiss)
JULIET: ( smilling with a shocked face) your kiss is something
so special Romeo…

Tybalt saw Juliet dancing with a stranger guy

TYBALT: Huh (curiously looking at Juliet and the strange guy)
Who’s that?

But then Romeo would like to say something but his mask fell..
JULIET: Your face-
Nurse came and said.
NURSE: ehem, Juliet! Lady Capulet is looking for you!
JULIET: Oh, I gotta go mister romeo..

Juliet left

ROMEO: Juliet! What a beautiful name! But why is Lady

Capulet calling her?
NURSE: Because she is her mother

Nurse left.

ROMEO: I-I am inlove with a Capulet?!

Tybalt saw Romeo with an angry Look

ROMEO: Romeo!? How dare you set foot in our property!
FOOL!

Benovolio and mercutio saw tybalt approaching romeo; so they

go to romeo and said that they have to go because he is caught.
MERCUTIO: Romeo! Your mask! We’re in trouble
BENOVOLIO: Let’s go, before they even get us!

Juliet, Nurse enters and saw them and romeo leaving

JULIET: Nurse! Find out who that man is, the one I was
dancing with.

Nurse leaves

JULIET: If he is already married to someone, I just might as

well die...Why is my heart wants to run in him?.... I love him
already.
JULIET: Is this what they call true love?
(juliet said in a sad emotions)

Nurse came back

NURSE: Madam, Tybalt told me who that uncultered boy

was..his name is romeo…he is a montague.
JULIET: No! My only love turns to my only hate! (sighs) It’s
all late now.
ACT SIX; SCENE SIX
While running away they stopped
MERCUTIO: Why were you dancing with the Capulet girl?.
You’d have got us killed!
ROMEO: I am already dead! I now know what true love is!
BENOVOLIO: And where are you going now?
ROMEO: To speak with my destiny!
BENOVOLIO: Are you insane?
MERCUTIO: He is! He is inlove! I think he knows what he’s
doing. Let us go!

Romeo ran to Juliet's house. And saw Juliet crying

JULIET: Oh my romeo! My heart broke! You’re a Montague!

Why! Oh why my love!
JULIET: But what is our different? I’m a capulet and you’re a
montague.
JULIET: But I don’t care anymore! Just once accept my love
and I will stop being a capulet! (crying)
JULIET: Why did you leave? We kissed and yearned for more!

Romeo showed up infront of juliet and said.

ROMEO: Yes I did leave! But I couldn’t help coming back

Juliets in shock

JULIET: What are you doing here?? They will kill you!
ROMEO: I heard your confessing love to me, does it still
matter if I live or die?
JULIET: Please leave they will see you!
ROMEO: It’s still fine if they find me here, for my life is better
ended seeing you and feel your wanting love on me!
JULIET: Y-yo-you love me?
JULIET: say you love me Romeo and I will believe. I will
choose to believe every word you say, knowing well that our
families are sworn enemies…For I have felt the true love by
you.

Nurse shouting

NURSE: Juliet?!
JULIET: You have to go now romeo!
ROMEO: I don’t want to lose your love. I can’t!
JULIET: If your love for me is honorable, propose me a
marriage, and I will be forever yours (juliet touching romeo
cheeks)
ROMEO: Yes my love! By the hour of Nine tommorow! At
Friar Lawrence’s!
JULIET: There I will go! Now hurry before they caught you
my love!
ROMEO: Goodnight my love, goodbye!
JULIET: Goodnight too my love, be careful!

ACT SEVEN; SCENE SEVEN

Romeo talked to friar Lawrence about the secret marriage

FRIAR LAWRENCE: What? You want to get married? Today?

To the one and child of Lord and Lady Capulet?
ROMEO: Yes right!
FRIAR LAWRENCE: You know the risk you’re taking,
Romeo?!
ROMEO: What is love without it? I don’t expect someone will
understand me.
FRIAR LAWRENCE: A mad lover and insane! Okay fine
tomorrow, I will get you marry secretly with juliet!

The next day in friar lawrence place, getting juliet and romeo
married. The love of romeo and juliet was secretly celebrrated.
FRIAR LAWRENCE: You may now kiss the bride!

After that they both congrats they selves and hug each other.
But that same day destiny was about to change its course.

LORD AND LADY MONTAGUE POV:

LORD MONTAGUE: My love look at this message of Tybalt

from the capulets!
LADY MONTAGUE: He challenges Romeo to a dual! But our
son is a lover not a fighter!
LORD MONTAGUE: You know tybalt is so dangerous that
one strike of him our son will be killed!
LADY MONTAGUE: What are we going to do now my love?
I’m scared for our son situation!
(lord montague hug lady montague)
LORD MONTAGUE: Don’t worry my love! I will talk to
benovolio and mercutio about this!
LADY MONTAGUE: I'm worried for my son's safety! Do
whatever it takes to protect him, no matter the cost!
LORD MONTAGUE: I will my love!

Lord montague left and went to go see benovolio and mercutio

LORD MONTAGUE: Benovolio and Mercutio! My sons life is
in danger! Tybalt sent us a dual fighting for Romeo!
MERCUTIO: Don’t worry majesty, when Tybalt comes, he will
find and confront me. Not romeo!

Tybalt came

TYBALT: Romeo! Come out! You didn’t think you’d sneak into
our house?! And the Capulets wouldn’t know?
LORD CAPULET: The only thing that pass by is their nephew
and maybe their dignity
MERCUTIO: Lord montague is right! (he pulls out his sword)
TYBALT: Ah Mercutio! I’m not here to fight you! Don’t test
me!

They start fighting and suddenly Romeo came

ROMEO: Tybalt! Stop fighting! Don’t you remember Prince

Escalus said!

Tybalt was about to kill romeo but tybalt suddenly stabs ,

mercutio instead of romeo

ROMEO: No! why did you came infront of me mercutio!

MERCUTIO: I-I’m hurt! What a stupid argument between
montagues and capulets! Ah!

Mercutio dies.

And Tybalt already have run away.

ROMEO: N-no! Mercutio! Tybalt! Come back!

(Said romeo while holding mercutio)
ROMEO: You’ve killed Mercutio! Now I’m going to kill you!
