6. Question paper comprises five Sections – A, B, C, D and E. There are 38 questions
in the question paper. All questions are compulsory.

8. Section B – Question no. 21 to 25 are, carrying 2 marks each.
9. Section C - Question no 26 to 31, are carrying 3 marks each.
10. Section D – Question no.32 to 35 are carrying of 5marks each.
11. Section-E - Question no.36 to 38 are case based integrated units of assessment
(04 marks each) with sub- parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each
respectively.

Qs of 3 marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice
has been provided in the 2 marks questions of Section E

Find the maximum capacity of a container which can measure the
petrol of either tanker in exact number of times.
Q25 From a pack of 52 playing cards, Jacks, Queens and Kings of red colour 2
are removed. From the remaining, a card is drawn at random. Find the
probability that drawn card is

(ii) a card of red colour

A bag contains 15 balls of which x are blue and the remaining are
red. If the number of red balls is increased by 5, the probability of
drawing the red balls doubles. Find the initial number of red balls

SECTION C

Q26 A person on tour has Rs 4200 for his expenses. If he extends his tour 3
for 3 days, he has to cut down his daily expenses by Rs 70. Find the
original duration of the tour.
Q27 Prove that 5 +3√2 is an irrational number.(given that 2 is an irrational 3
number)

Q30 In a square park of side 8 m, two goats are tied at opposite vertices 3
with a rope of length 1.4 m and a cow is tied in the centre with a rope
of length 2.1m. Calculate the area of park which cannot be grazed by
them.
OR
A sector is cut from a circular sheet of radius 36 cm, the angle of the
sector being 30°. If another circle of the area same as the sector is
formed, then find the radius of the new circle.

Q32 The angle of elevation of the top of tower from certain point is 30°. If 5
the observer moves 20 m towards the tower the angle of elevation of
the top increases by 15°. Find the height of the tower.
Q33 Solve the following pair of linear equations graphically: 5
x + 3y = 6, 2x  3y = 12
Also shade the region bounded by the line 2x  3y = 12 and both the
coordinate axes.

A part of the monthly hostel charge is fixed and the remaining depends

on the number of days one has taken food in the mess. When Swati
takes food for 20 days, she has to pay Rs. 3,000 as hostel charges
whereas Mansi who takes food for 25 days Rs. 3,500 as hostel charges.
Find the fixed charges and the cost of food per day.
Q34 a. 1) Prove that the tangent at any point of a circle is perpendicular to 3+2
the radius through the point of contact.

2) In the given figure, PQ is a chord of length 6 cm and the radius of


the circle is 6 cm.TP and TQ are two tangents drawn from an external
point T. Find ∠PTQ.

SECTION E

Q36 The discus throw is an event in which an athlete attempts to throw a


discus. The athlete spins anti-clockwise around one and a half times
through a circle, and then releases the throw. When released, the
discus travels along a tangent to the circular spin orbit. In the given
figure, AB is one such tangent to a circle of radius 75 cm. Point O is
the centre of the circle, angle ABO = 30° and PQ is parallel to OA.
Based on above information:
(i) Find the length of AB. 1
(ii) Find the length of OB. 1
(iii) Prove that ∆BAO and ∆BPQ are similar.

Q37 Your friend Veer wants to participate in a 400m race. He can currently
run that distance in 120 seconds and with each day of practice it takes

(iii) What is the sum of time taken from 1st day to the last day? 2

time taken on the 15th day?

Q38 Dinesh is building a greenhouse in his farm as shown below. The base
of the greenhouse is a circular having a diameter of 12m a
hemispherical dome on the top.

i) Find the curved surface area of the cylindrical part of the


greenhouse. 1
ii) Find the circumference of the base of the greenhouse. 1
iii) How much will it cost him to cover the walls and top of the
greenhouse with a transparent plastic sheet. If the plastic sheet costs 2
Rs 77 per sq.m? Show steps .Take π = 22/7
OR
(iii) What is the amount of the air that can be contained by the
green house. Show steps .Take π = 22/7
