1.How did the speaker reach Ranthambore National Park?
Ans; The speaker had boarded the Maharaja Express which stopped at
Ranthambore . After getting down from the train, the speaker along with
his co-passengers jumped into a Safari jeep which was already waiting for
them . Their driver , Raju drove them to the Ranthombore National Park.
2.Why was Raju driving the jeep up the hill and around the corner? what did
they see when they reached there?
Ans) Raju drove the jeep up the hill and around the corner so that the
passengers in his jeep could have a better sight of the tiger .Just as the jeep
turned the corner passengers saw the tiger paused on the track looking
directly at them he then calmly jumbed on the road and then walked into
the trees.
3.How did Machli justify the title of the’ Queen of the Jungle’?
Ans)Machli and the other tiger sprang on each other, meeting mid air and
sank teeth and claws into each others necks.They fought standing on their
hind legs,snarling and growling. All of a sudden the tigress slashed her claws
across the tiger’s face very fiercely. The tiger moved back slowly and limped
away to lick his wounds . Machli growled once more to announce her victory
and went and sat under a tree.Thus, she justified the title, ‘Queen of the
jungle’.

1.The men saw a large hole in the ground with a green pool at the bottom
and the whole place was filled with hundreds of pterodactyls.
2.The male pterodactyls started flying up in the air when one of them gave a
shrill cry noticing Summerlee’s head over the rock.
3.When the men tried to move away the pterodactyls flew down towards
them and attacked them with their strong sharp beaks.
4. Lord John started firing his gun at the pterodactyls to scare and scatter
them. In the meantime men ran and reached the trunks of the trees and
they were safe since the enormous creatures couldn’t fly under the
