I. . Read the given passage about a boy who loved animals.


Surya loved animals. He always wanted to be in the company of animals and as luck
would have it, he found a job in Shadipur Zoo. From morning 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, he
was always busy with tigers, lions, monkeys, snakes, bears, wolves and several birds like
the peacocks, parrots and emu.
Surya was supposed to clean the cages with the help of two attendants. Then he would
feed the animals twice a day and supervise the other workers from time to time. During
summer, Surya’s responsibilities increased. He was supposed to cover the cages with
jute sacks and make them wet, time and again, to give cooling effect.
Once, Surya was cleaning the cage of a King Cobra, he was taken by surprise when the
cobra spat venom on him. With the wall behind him Surya could not escape. But the
parakeets screamed and made such a noise that an attendant came to rescue surya.
