This document will provide you with the required information to

properly inspect both CobaltPLUS and Cortex lifts.
If you have any questions about this document, feel free to ask
McTedson or MattDevsWasTaken.

Any instruction that is written in blue is what should be done on a

CobaltPLUS lift.
Any instruction that is written in red is what should be done on a
Cortex lift.
1. Securing The Area
When working on a lift, it is important that you carry out your work in a safe
manner. This must be achieved by securing the area around the lift,
especially the top floor (or whichever floor contains the cabinet of the lift).

If you are unable to secure the area when you are in the game, please notify
the game owner one day before the inspection so that they can arrange this
for you.

NEVER inspect a lift if it cannot be isolated from everyone else! If the lift
cannot be isolated, please log this in your report so it can be
rescheduled.

2. The Inspection

The following instructions must be followed carefully during the inspection.

1. Turn on the shaft lights. The switch can be located either on the lift pit or
in the cabinet. Check the cabinet first before accessing the lift pit.
2. Use the lift from the bottom to the top floor and notice any sound
glitches, missing details, etc.
3. Go to the top floor. Check to make sure there is nobody in the lift. This
can be done by navigating Menu > Tests > Chk Empty Car. Visually
inspect the cabin when it is at the top floor.
4. Put the lift into inspection mode. For the ML711, the inspection controls
are hidden behind the “Inspection Controls” door at the top of the
cabinet. Use the Logic Cabinet Key to open this door.
5. Drive the lift down, and enter the lift shaft via the lift roof. The doors can
be opened by touching the doors with a triangle key. Make sure to only
touch the shaft doors, as the car doors can also open if touched on
some CobaltPLUS lifts. Click the shaft doors with the drop key.
6. Drive the lift up and down the shaft. Look for any out-of-place or missing
details. Pay close attention to the counterweight. On some Cortex
lifts, it is not synchronized with the lift. As such it can clip into the
ceiling or into the floor after a number of trips with the lift.
7. Go back to the top floor and access the logic cabinet.
8. Test the lift’s remote calling system. This can be done by navigating
Menu > Commands > Car Call. On AU-GC cabinets, this is done by
navigating Menu > Car Call. You can use any type of call you wish.
9. Test the fire call mode.
10. Test the independent/priority service mode.

If the lift has the option to freefall:

1. Put the lift into inspection mode.
2. Drive the lift down to a maximum of 5 floors below you. If the lift is not
as tall, send it to the lowest possible floor.
3. Enable RELEASE switch.
4. Press and hold the red button.
5. After the lift stops, release the red button.
6. Disable the RELEASE switch.
7. Put the lift into normal operation.
8. If the lift is not moving although the safety circuit is connected (all doors
closed, all stop switches disabled), click the red button once. This
should fix the problem.

If the engineer deems it necessary, the following things can be inspected.

These, however, are not mandatory to be checked.

• Door sensors
• Alarm
• Door operators

3. Ending The Inspection

After the inspection is completed and logged in the #inspection-logs, please
make sure of the following:
• All doors are closed
• All pit stop switches are disabled
• Shaft lights are off
• The lift is set to normal mode
• The cabinet is locked
