Day 1: Our Great Commission

Scripture: "And Jesus came and said to them, 'All


authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded you. And
behold, I am with you always, to the end of the
age.'" (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV)

The Great Commission is an essential part of the


Christian faith, a call to action bestowed upon us by
Jesus Himself. He has instructed us to go forth and
make disciples of all nations, guiding them in His
teachings and baptizing them in His name. This

God may open to us a door for the word, to declare
the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in
prison." (Colossians 4:3, ESV)

understanding of the gospel message but also a
willingness to pray for open doors that allow us to
share God's love and salvation with others. As we

importance of seeking God's guidance and trusting
in His sovereignty.

When we pray for open doors, we acknowledge our

Scripture: "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being


watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time,
pray also for us, that God may open to us a door

In our mission to share the gospel, we must lean

Scripture: "For I delivered to you as of first


importance what I also received: that Christ died for
our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day in
accordance with the Scriptures." (1 Corinthians
15:3-4 ESV)

The gospel message, though simple in its essence,

the core of this message is the truth that Jesus
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and
miraculously rose again on the third day,
conquering death and securing our salvation. As

Day 5: Sovereignty and Responsibility

Scripture: "Therefore, my beloved, as you have


always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence
but much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who
works in you, both to will and to work for his good
pleasure." (Philippians 2:12-13 ESV)

The sovereignty of God is a central truth of the


Christian faith, teaching us that He is in control of
all things and that His plans and purposes will
ultimately prevail. Yet, this understanding should
not lead us to passivity or complacency, especially
when it comes to sharing the gospel. While God is
sovereign, we are still responsible for our actions,
including our evangelistic efforts. We must work
diligently to share Christ's love, while trusting in
God's ultimate control and plan.

The balance between God's sovereignty and our


responsibility can be challenging to maintain, but it
is essential for a vibrant and effective Christian life.
As we share the gospel, we must remember that
our role is to be faithful and obedient in our efforts,
trusting that the Holy Spirit will work in people's
hearts to bring about repentance and faith. We can
take comfort in knowing that the results are not
dependent on our own abilities, but on the powerful

Understanding the relationship between God's


sovereignty and our responsibility can also help us
to avoid two common pitfalls in evangelism. On the
one hand, we must guard against the temptation to

conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit, not the
result of human persuasion or coercion. On the
other hand, we must also resist the tendency to
become discouraged or disheartened when our
evangelistic efforts do not yield immediate results.
We must trust that God is at work, even when we
cannot see the fruit of our labors.

As we navigate the tension between God's


sovereignty and our responsibility, we can draw
inspiration from the apostle Paul, who was both a
zealous evangelist and a staunch defender of
God's sovereignty in salvation. Paul recognized
that his responsibility was to preach the gospel with
boldness and passion, while leaving the results in
God's hands. This mindset enabled him to endure
hardships, persecution, and setbacks, all while
maintaining his focus on the mission to which God
had called him.

Reflect on how the sovereignty of God gives you


confidence in sharing the gospel, knowing that He

is in control of the outcome. Consider how this


understanding can free you from the fear of
rejection or failure, and inspire you to be more bold
and intentional in your evangelistic efforts. As you
step out in faith, trust that God is working behind
the scenes, using your words and actions to draw

the world.

One practical way to apply this balance between


God's sovereignty and our responsibility is to
cultivate a lifestyle of prayerful dependence on the
Holy Spirit. As we pray for opportunities to share
the gospel, we demonstrate our reliance on God's
power and guidance, while also expressing our
commitment to active participation in His
redemptive work. Through prayer, we can remain
connected to the Source of our strength, wisdom,
and courage, ensuring that our evangelistic efforts
are rooted in God's love and purpose.

Prayer: Father, help me to balance my


understanding of Your sovereignty with my
responsibility to share the gospel. May I be diligent
in my efforts, trusting in Your plan and relying on
Your Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of those I
encounter. Grant me the wisdom and grace I need
to be an effective witness for Your kingdom. In

Scripture: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a


new creation. The old has passed away; behold,

evangelism. When we fully surrender our lives to
God, allowing His love and grace to permeate

As we live in a manner that brings glory to God, our
