information that can be used to support academic pursuits.

The usefulness of library repositories lies in their ability to provide easy access to high-quality, peer-
reviewed content that can be used to support research and learning. By centralizing collections of digital
resources, library repositories make it easier for researchers and students to locate and access relevant
materials, which can save time and improve the quality of academic work.

In addition to providing easy access to digital resources, library repositories also offer a number of other
benefits. They help to preserve important scholarly works, ensuring that they are available for future
generations of scholars to study and build upon. They can also facilitate collaboration among researchers
and scholars, by providing a platform for sharing research and ideas.

In terms of total books, journals, e-journals and databases AJU library has been active to procure library
materials as and when requisitions are received and it is still in the regular process of procuring good
content study and reference books. The numbers can be listed as below:

Books: 7947

Journals: 62

e-journals: 88

Databases: 4

MAJOR COMMITEES CELLS & CLUBS

Clubs are a vital part of university life! A club is “a group of students organized with a similar interest for a
social, literary, athletic, or other common purpose; while an organization is a group of students organized for
and acting toward a particular cause”. Students have the opportunity and choose to join these groups for
many reasons including: pursuit of individual interests; career networking opportunities; social
camaraderie; and many more activisms. ARKA JAIN University has active student clubs and organizational
system and all students are strongly encouraged to pursue club and organizational membership
opportunities to help them enrich their campus experience.

Students have a variety of purposes for joining clubs and organizations including:

1. Networking Opportunities: Networking provides a student with the opportunity to meet other students
and professionals with common goals and interest. Additionally, students’ can receive information and
resources that will support their current and future interests and goals.
2. Social Opportunities: Many clubs and organizations are formed based on leisure and recreational interest.
Students may wish to pursue membership in these types of clubs for personal enjoyment, as well as an
opportunity to meet people with the same interest.
3. Personal Development: Joining student clubs and organizations give you the opportunity to meet a diverse
population of people that allow you to expand your thinking and interest. It encourages personal
development through communication and exploration of different interest.
4. Leadership Skills: Joining a club or organization allows you to develop leadership skills within an
environment of your peers. You will be able to learn from fellow students and establish your leadership
abilities through planning and implementing different activities and events.
5. Organization and Management Skills: You can gain valuable experience in the execution of procedures
and policies by your involvement in clubs and organizations. All clubs/ cells / organizations laid down well
established rules and procedures, which must be adhered by all clubs and organizations that want to operate
on campus. These systems help to understand the organizational structure and help to build these vital
skills.

catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. It channelizes all efforts and measures of
the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence. AJU has also an IQAC to facilitate the
integration of the various activities of the institution and institutionalize the best practices. It also strives to
provide a sound basis for decision making imbibing all the dimensions of service quality to improve
institutional functioning and to act as a change agent in the Institution.

Discipline and Anti-Ragging Cell

The Discipline and Anti-Ragging Cell, established according to the regulations of the UGC, is the moral police
of our university. The Cell’s responsibility is to ensure that students maintain discipline in the classrooms
and within the college campus. Members of the cell regularly go on rounds to each and every classroom to
make note of errant behavior and to make sure that the university campus is free from ragging and eve-
teasing. The Cell takes severe punitive action against students indulging in such heinous activities.

Students may approach any member of discipline & anti ragging cell or they may also approach any of their
other teachers to make their complaints regarding ragging or any other indiscipline issue.Students may
also express their grievances online by writing a mail to sdcell@arkajainuniversity.ac.in
and copy to registrar@arkajainuniversity.ac.in

Students are requested to note that making a complaint is serious and therefore they are to use this power in
a responsible manner. At the same time, the university assures students that once a complaint is made, it will
be treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.

Student Grievance Redressal Cell

WRWY (We R with You), the Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints
of students whatever be the nature of the problem. Students are encouraged to approach the members of the
cell or any of their other teachers as is comfortable to them. Students are advisedthat to make a complaintis
serious and therefore they are to use this power in a responsible manner. At the same time, the University
assures students that once a complaint is made, it will be treated with sensitivity and confidentiality.

Internal Complaints Committee

As part of the best practices, as also in consonance with the University Grants Commission (Prevention,
prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational
institutions) Regulations, 2015, an Internal Complaints Committee as under has been formed to provide
protection against sexual harassment of women at the work place and for the prevention and redressal of

understanding the many career alternatives and empowering them to make the best decision and thereafter
academic choice.

Placement Cell

Almost all HEIs have a placement cell. By keeping in touch with respected businesses and industrial
establishments, it plays a vital role in finding employment opportunities for undergraduate and
postgraduate students who graduate from the institution. Along with handling other logistics, the Training &
Placement Office offers the necessary infrastructure to hold training sessions, interviews, assessments, and
group discussions.

DESIGN HIVE-THE IN-HOUSE FASHION BRAND

The goal of branding is to make a connection between the character of an object and its branded form or
appearance. The Department of Fashion Design established its in-house brand—Design Hive to give Design
students, faculties and local artisans a platform to showcase their creative work.

There have been exhibitions of various products at the University and city level which has been appreciated
with high note. The products are made from low cost, everyday materials, usually scraps, recycled and
repurposed to advocate sustainability and circular fashion. The products are manufactured with an
emphasis on eco-friendly materials, careful planning, ethical business practises, and the appreciation of
creativity.

INDUCTION CUM ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

Induction cum Orientation Program is taken seriously by ARKA JAIN University for the new entrants with
expected outcomes depending on the specific goals and objectives of the programs. The Induction program is
named as Aarambh and it defines the expected journey of the learners in the stay in the campus during the
course duration.

A week-long Induction cum Orientation Programme (AARAMBH-22) was held for the new batch of students
of the university taking admission in different departments. The objective of the Orientation Programme was
to familiarize the students to the Institute’s environment by providing all relevant information with respect
to academics, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. Guests from different field were present in the
programme. Mr. PS Reddy was the chief guest of the induction programme. It was organized between 28th
Oct. and 3rd Nov., 2020.

As a tradition, we at ARKA JAIN University conduct the orientation program to familiarize the students with
the campus and prep them up before the commencement of the regular classes. But unlike all years, this year
was a challenge as it was to be done on a virtual platform, but the essence and the importance of the
program had to be maintained. With the efforts of a wonderful team of organizers, administration and the
able support of the management, we successfully organized an engaging and participative virtual Program.

Prof. (Dr.) S. S. Razi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the students with his motivational speech and the
students were introduced to the University by the presentation – Glimpse of the University. Various topics
were discussed briefly to familiarize the new students to the campus and the rules and regulations as well.
The various topics were – Dignitaries at AJU, Different schools and courses, Campus Infrastructure, Rules
and Regulations and Examinations. Apart from these, the students were introduced to various clubs and cells
within the University – NSS and Rotaract, Toastmaster club, English – Literary Club, IT Club, and Women’s
Cell.

social change who can offer long-term answers to societal issues. By involving them in extracurricular
activities, the pupils have developed a sense of community duty and selflessness. AJU takes it a responsibility
to extend hands of social service and for that along with NSS and NCC, the respective departments go for
outreach activities and serve the community in many respects.

CULTURAL AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES

Activities that advance or improve the public's understanding of history or society are referred to as
cultural activities. It is the development and improvement of a person's mind, interests, tastes, and talents
because they allow pupils to explore outside of the classroom. Cultural events have traditionally been a
source of great excitement among students. They are motivated by the efforts of intellectuals,
professionals, and artists who act as role models for them.

Participating in sports develops a person's patience, communication, leadership, punctuality,

accountability, teamwork, trust, and other interpersonal skills that helpsone not just win a particular
sporting tournament but also develop and succeed in other areas of one’s life.In higher education, sports
are crucial in helping young people build a well-rounded personality that includes their body, mind, and
spirit. As a result, university students who actively participate in competitive sports foster a sense of
positive competition in their daily lives.

Keeping this in view, ARKA JAIN University fosters the team spirit through sports conducted by the Sports
Committee of the University. The students are given a wider platform to play different outdoor and
indoor games and they are sent to other sports meet also organized by various educational institutions
across the country. AJU finds it essential that university students from across the nation be brought
together on a "National Platform" through the media of sports and physical activities in order to direct
young people's energy in a positive direction as part of the process of establishing a nation.

AJU hosts RUNBHOOMI, an intra-university sports extravaganza as an annual sports meet to witness
outstanding performances and wide participations across the streams.

The students of AJU participated in Khelotsav, a mega sports meet organized by Central University of
Jharkhand, Ranchi and performed well by bagging over-all runners-up title. The players excelled in
basketball and football winning Gold and in cricket they secured the second position. In Table tennis AJU

Aagaaz (Annual Cultural Fest)

It is indeed a fact that collective, and physical gatherings make a difference. There is profound symbolic
value in the opportunity to experience something together as communities. Cultural events in educational
campus offer such a platform by condensing the exposure to cultural activities over a specific time and
place.

AJU organizes Aagaaz as the annual cultural fest to rejuvenate the students and create an ethos of
collective effort and cultural interaction.

programme introduces the students to the programme of study and the facilities available to them. The
objective is to prepare students for their course of study and ensure a smooth transition into university

Holi Invasion

The Indian festival of Holi is in the pleasure of the arrival of spring, love, and new life. While some families
undertake religious rituals, for many, Holi is just a time for celebration. It's a vibrant festival with singing,
dancing, and the flinging of coloured water and powder paint. The "festival of colours" is a different name
for Holi.

Holi, also known as the festival of colour, is a joyous celebration during which family and friends splash
one other with coloured water and daub coloured powders on each other.

AJU celebrates Holi with the title ‘Holi Invasion’ that signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of
spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and
repair broken relationships, and is also celebrated as a thanks giving for a good harvest. It gives a
message of unity and trust.

Roshni

In India Diwali is a five-day long celebration, with the third day serving as the primary event. Most people
pray to Ganesh, the god of luck and wisdom for the upcoming year, and Lakshmi, the goddess of riches,
during Diwali night. Although Diwali marks various historical occurrences and tales for each of the four
major world religions—Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Buddhism—it nonetheless symbolizes the
triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.

AJU celebrates Diwali by the name ‘Roshni’ in which a number of cultural performances are
executed by the students and staffs.

Annual Expedition @ AJU Carvaan

Learning that is connected to exploration and journey-based experiences or expeditions, is known as
expeditionary education. It is frequently used interchangeably with adventure education, outdoor
education, environmental education, or experiential education.

AJU takes the students to different places of historical, cultural and mythological importance in the form
of educational tour-Carvaan, as educational excursions are learning opportunities that let students put
their teachings into practice in the real world. These vacations frequently serve as the student's most
treasured memories. On an educational excursion, students' brains are relaxed, which increases their
likelihood of learning.
