General Instructions:
This question paper has Sections A-E.
1. Section A: QI-Q 20 are of 1 mark each (18 MCQ type and 2 are assertion reasoning
type questions).
2. Section B: Q 21-Q 25 are Short Answer Type Questions carrying two marks each.
3. Section C: Q 26-Q31 are Short Answer Type 2 Questions carrying 3 marks each.
4. Section D: Q32-Q35 are Long Answer Type Questions carrying 5 marks each.
5. Section E: Q 36-Q 38 are Case Study Based Questions. Each case study has 3 case
based sub parts, 2 of them are 1 mark each and 3rd sub part is of 2 marks.
6. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice ·has been provided in the
2 marks questions of Section B and internal choices of two questions in Section-C
and Section-D.

26. Factorise the given algebraic expression by regrouping the terms:

27. The length of two sides of a right triangle are equal. The square of the hypotenuse is

450 𝑐𝑚2 . Find the length of each side.

33. Simplify and then verify the result for the given values

(3𝑥 − 4𝑦)(4𝑥 2 𝑦 + 3𝑥𝑦 2 ) ; 𝑥 = −2, 𝑦 = 1

i) Find the three pairs of matching parts with reason to check that Δ PSQ ⩭ ΔPSR.

ii) State the congruence condition you have used in (i).

iii) Is it true to say that QS=SR? Why?

35. A race track is in the form of a ring whose inner circumference is 352 m and the outer
circumference is 396 m. Find the width of the track.

Q36. A birthday banner is in the shape of a rectangle with a triangle cut from one of its
sides. The length of the rectangle is (4x2 + 2y) cm and the breadth is half of the length.
(i) Find the breadth of the rectangle.

(ii) If length is decreased by 2cm , what is the new length?

(ii) What is the area of the rectangle?

38. Students of a school prepared some articles on the occasion of diwali to help

the poor people. They made diyas, candles, rangoli art designs, flower

decoration kits and homemade sweets and distributed them in slum areas.

They collected ₹1568 in total. They got 1 rupee coins. 2 rupee coins, 5 rupee

coins and 10 rupee coins. The number of 10 rupee coins is half of 1 rupee

coins, 5 rupee coins are one-third of 1 rupee coins and 2 rupee coins are onefourth of 1
rupee coins. Total number of coins is 400. Total number of 2 rupee

coins was invested in making diyas and an amount of 10 rupee coins was

invested in making sweets.

On the basis of above information, answer the following questions.

1.How many 1 rupee coins were collected?

2. How many 5 rupee coins were collected by them?

3. How much money was invested in making Diyas?
