Pnemuatic System Controls

The document outlines various active control methods for pneumatic systems between compressors and tanks, including On/Off Control, Bypass Control, Bleed-Off Control, and Variable Speed Motor Control. Each method has its own advantages, such as energy efficiency and pressure maintenance, suitable for different demand scenarios. These controls are essential for optimizing performance and preventing issues like over-pressurization.

Active Control between compressor and tank

1. On/Off Control:
The compressor alternates between being fully on (running) or completely
off (stopped). This simple method is commonly used in systems with low-
duty cycles or infrequent demand.

2. Bypass Control:
A portion of the compressed air is rerouted back to the compressor intake or
to the atmosphere when the demand decreases. This prevents over-
pressurization while the compressor continues running.

3. Bleed-Off Control (or Blow-Off Control):

Excess air is released through a bleed valve when the system pressure
exceeds the required level. This method helps maintain steady pressure but
can result in energy loss.

4. Variable Speed Motor Control:

The compressor's motor speed is adjusted to match the air demand,
providing energy efficiency and precise control. This method is ideal for
systems with varying demand levels.
