OPEN CHANNEL TILTING FLUME

 Length : 10meter
 Width : 50cms
 Depth : 60cms
 A hook gauge mounted on a trolley,

 Trolley movement,

 A differential manometer for 1. Annual use of Pressure gauge or Current

meter.

 Hand operated screw jack for slope adjustment.

 A 10 HP or 7.5 mono block pump with starter and foot valve.


Experimental Set Up:

 The experimental setup consists of a tilting flume 50cms wide and 60cms

deep with a stabilizing tank. The total length of flume is 10meter. For visual

observation of flow pattern along the flume section both side of flume are

provided with transparent Perspex sheet.

 The upstream and downstream sections are provided with the adjustable

gates. In a portion of flume one can fix a model of weir of roughened plate

etc…

 The flume is provided with pipe railing in full length (between gates) for

the movement of pointer gauge trolley.

 A pointer gauge is used to measure the head of water over the model

 The flume has the screw mechanical jack to give a tilt to the channel. A

calibrated Venturi Meter is provided with two pressure gauges which is

used to measure the actual discharge.
