RESOLUTION NO. 0003 Series of 2024

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 51, SERIES OF 1986,


OTHERWISE KNOWN AS “NATIONAL CODE OF MARKETING OF BREASTMILK
SUBSTITUTES, BREASTMILK SUPPLEMENTS AND OTHER RELATED
PRODUCTS” OR THE “MILK CODE”

WHEREAS, in order to ensure that safe and adequate nutrition for infants is
provided, there is a need to protect and promote breastfeeding and to inform the
public about the proper use of breastmilk substitutes and supplements and
related products through adequate, consistent and objective information and
appropriate regulation of the marketing and distribution of the said substitutes,
supplements and related products;

WHEREAS, consistent with Article 11 of the International Code of Marketing of


Breast-milk Substitutes, the present government should adopt appropriate
legislation to give effect to the principles and aim of the aforesaid International
Code;

WHEREAS, on October 20, 1986, Executive Order No. 51, Series of 1986,
otherwise known as the “NATIONAL CODE OF MARKETING OF BREASTMILK
SUBSTITUTES, BREASTMILK SUPPLEMENTS AND OTHER RELATED PRODUCTS”
or the “MILK CODE” ;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Barngay Amuguis Mulanay, Quezon, in session duly


assembled, recognized the need to strictly implement the above-cited national
laws so that the municipality can contribute to the realization of the foregoing
state policies;

NOW THEREFORE, on unanimous motion by the members of the Sangguniang


Barangay, be it

RESOLVED to ADOPT EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 51, SERIES OF 1986, otherwise


known as “NATIONAL CODE OF MARKETING OF BREASTMILK SUBSTITUTES,
BREASTMILK SUPPLEMENTS AND OTHER RELATED PRODUCTS”

RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish copies of this resolution to all persons and


entities concerned for their perusal.
