MHR-110-10-10 Manage Learning Forecast
Documentation: This process refers to the ability to run quarterly forecast processes, in which Learners and
Organizational Owners can express their training requirements for an upcoming training period. The Training
Forecast process focusses on training requirements that have not otherwise been established in other
processes (i.e. Already assigned items, curricula and programs; requested external trainings).

Use cases:

• Learning organizations conduct regular budget and resource planning. The training forecasting process
provides an insight into training requirements that are not planned as part of mandatory or automated
assignments and thus are not reflected in regular training forecasts
• The training planner allows to plan for training requirements of employees that are yet to join the
organization

Purpose:

• Learners and managers provide an indication for non-mandatory learning activities as a forecast for

which need to be done for defining how a certain learning item should be delivered, for example: evaluation
of internal capabilities, evaluation of vendor capabilities, defining approach for categorization of training
costs, etc.

Use cases:

• A new course has been requested by stakeholders. The requirements are clear. The method of delivery
(i.e. E-Learning, instructor led, on-the-job-training, etc.) needs to be decided. Expected costs, learning
impact and other constraints will influence the decision and need to be considered to find an adequate
delivery method as well as a suitable sourcing approach (Buy vs Build)
