22. (A). A girl of height 100 cm is walking away from the base of a lamp post at a speed of 1.9 m/s. If the lamp is
5 m above the ground, find the length of her shadow after 4s.

(B). In ∆ABC, DE II BC such that AD = (4x – 3) cm, AE = (8x – 7) cm, BD = (3x – 1) cm and CE = (5x – 3)
cm. Find the value of x.

23. From an external point P, two tangents , PA and PB are drawn to a circle with centre O. At a point E on the
circle, a tangent is drawn to intersect PA and PB at C and D, respectively. If PA = 10 cm , find the perimeter of
∆ PCD.

24. (A) If tan(A+B) = √3 and tan(A – B) = , find the value of A and B if 0° < A + B < 90° and A > B.

(B) If a cos𝜃 + b sin𝜃 = m and a sin𝜃 – b cos𝜃 = n, then prove that a2 + b2 = m2 + n2.

25. With Vertices A , B and C of ∆ABC as centres, arcs are drawn with radii 14 cm and the three portions of the
triangle so obtained are removed. Find the total area removed from the triangle.

(This section consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each)

26. The L.C.M of two numbers is 14 times their H.C.F. The sum of L.C.M and H.C.F is 750. If one number is
250, then find the other number.
27. (A) If 𝛼 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝛽 are zeroes of the quadratic polynomial 4x2 + 4x + 1 , then find the quadratic polynomial
whose zeroes are 2𝛼 and 2𝛽.
OR

(B) Find the zeroes of polynomial p(x) = x2 – 2x – 8. Verify the relationship between zeroes and their
coefficients.

28. (A) The Sum of a two – digit number and the number obtained by reversing the digits is 66. If the digits of the
number differ by 2, find the number. How many such numbers are there?
OR

(B) Find the value of k for which the following pair of linear equations have infinitely many solutions.
2x + 3y = 7 , (k+1)x + (2k-1)y = 4k +1.

29. Prove that the intercept of a tangent between two parallel tangents to a circle subtends a right angle at centre.

32. Through the mid – point M of the side CD of a parallelogram ABCD, the line BM is drawn intersecting AC at

33. (A) (i) If the roots of the quadratic equation (a-b)x2 + (b-c)x + (c-a) = 0 are equal, prove that 2a = b+c.

(B) A passenger while boarding a plane hurt herself and the captain called for immediate medical attention.
Thus, the plane left 30 minutes behind schedule. In order to reach its destination 1500 km away on time, the
speed was increased by 100 km/hr from its usual speed. Find the usual speed.
34. (A). A cubical block of side 10 cm is surmounted by a hemisphere. What is the largest diameter that the
hemisphere can have? Find the cost of painting the total surface area of the solid so formed, at the rate of Rs 5
per 100 sq.cm.
OR

(B). A gulabjamun when ready for eating contains sugar syrup of about 30% of its volume. Find
approximately how much syrup would be found in 45 such gulabjamuns if each of them is shaped like a
cylinder with two hemispherical ends. The complete length of each of them is 5 cm and the diameter is 2.8
cm.

35. (i) If pth term of an AP is q and qth term is p, then prove that its nth term is (p+q-n).
(ii) Find the sum of all three digit numbers which are divisible by 3 and 7.

SECTION – E
(This section consists of 3 case – based questions of 4 marks each)

36. One evening, kaushik was in a park. children were playing . birds were singing on a nearby tree of height
80m. he observed a bird on the tree at an angle of elevation of 45°. when a sixer was hit, a ball flew through
the tree frightening the bird to fly away. in 2 seconds, he observed the bird flying at the same height at an
angle of elevation of 30° and the ball flying towards him at the same height at an angle of elevation of 60° .

(i) At what distance from the foot of the tree was he observing the bird sitting on the tree.
(ii) How far did the bird fly in the mentioned time.
OR
After hitting how far did the ball travel in the sky when kaushik saw the ball.
(iii) What is the speed of the bird in metre per minute. If it have flown 20(√3+1)m.
37. Vivek is very fond of collecting balls of different colours. He has a total of 25 balls in his basket out of which
five balls are red in colour and eight are white. Out of the remaining balls, some are green in colour and the
rest are pink.

Based on the above information, solve the following questions:


(i) If the probability of drawing a pink ball is twice the probability of drawing a green ball, then find the
number of pink balls.
(ii) Find the probability of drawing a ball of colour other than green colour
OR
Find the probability of drawing either a green or white ball.
(iii) What is the probability that drawn ball is neither a pink nor a white ball?
38. Three friends Aman, Raj and Deepak live in different cities. They decided to meet at a place in city M. Aman,
Raj and Deepak lives in city A, city R and city D respectively. Coordinates of city M, city A, city R and city D
are represented in the figure given below.
Based on the given situation, answer the following questions.

(i) Who will travel less distance, Aman, Raj or Deepak, to reach city M?
(ii) Find the distance between city A and city D.
(iii) Find the coordinates of city P, which is situated at point P, the mid-point of the line joining the points
represented by city R and city D.
