26) If the given figure, O is the centre of the circle, BD=OD


and CD ⊥ AB. Find ∠CAB.

27) A heap of wheat is in the form of a cone whose diameter is 10.5 m and height is 3
m. Find its volume. The heap is covered by canvas to protect it from rain. Find the
area of the canvas required.

36) A Ferris wheel is an amusement ride consisting of a rotating upright wheel


attached to the rim in such a way that as the wheel turns, they are kept upright,
usually by gravity.

37) An object which is thrown or projected into the


air, subject to only the acceleration of gravity is
called a projectile and its path is called its
trajectory. The curved path that a projectile
follows was shown by Galileo to be a parabola. If
the polynomial to represent the maximum
vertical distance covered is p(x) = -6x2 + 48x + 24,
where ‘x’ signifies the distance covered
horizontally.
(i) What is the degree of p(x)?
(ii) Find the height of the projectile when it has reached 5 cm away horizontally.
(iii) Find the value of ‘k’ if (x – 3) is a factor of k2x3 – x2 + 3x -1.

38) The students in a school are arranged in a particular pattern on the playground for
their drill practice. The student at O is assumed to be at the coordinate (0, 0).
The position of some of the students in this arrangement are indicated by letters in
the Cartesian Plane shown below.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:


(i) What are the co-ordinates of P and Q respectively?
(ii) Which letter represents the point (5, 3)
(iii)What is the distance between student R and student E?
(iv)In which quadrant does the point (-3, -5) lie?
