Sample Answer

Given are two maps depicting the changes made to a museum

building and its grounds from 1957 to 2007. Overall, the
building became much larger and the number of trees was
noticeably reduced.
Looking first at the grounds of the museum, the picture in 2007 shows that all the trees
alongside the road were cut sown, and also most of those to the left and to the rear of
the museum. The driveway leading up to the museum was removed, too. To the
southeast of the museum, the green space was replaced with car park.
In terms of the building itself, the entrance has been moved from the middle of the
building to the left-hand side of the building, where a new museum shop was opened
up. From there, visitors can enter into a new reception room. Opposite the reception
room, a cafe was set up replacing the museum storage room. The National History
exhibition room was turned into a local history room while a special exhibitions room
and an education center were added to the north of the building.

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010. Summarise
the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.
• Given are two maps depicting a series of changes applied to the road access to a city
hospital in 2010 compared to its state in 2007. Overall, it is quite evident from the
provided information that whilst more facilities such as a new parking lot as well as
a bus station were constructed, the main roads to the hospital were not radically
altered.

• First and foremost, in 2010 a public parking was built to the east of the hospital
whereas three years before both people and the staff used to park their vehicles
alongside each other. This parking lot was located to the right side of the Hospital
Road which was exclusively utilized by the hospital personnel. Moreover, the six bus
stops on both sides of the Hospital Road were demolished and a new integrated bus
station was established to the west of the Hospital Road which was connected to
the two newly-established roundabouts at the end and beginning of the Hospital
Road.

• What is more, the main streets underwent some modifications. To be more precise,
the crossroads at the beginning and end of the Hospital Road were replaced with
two roundabouts, giving extra exit roads to the bus station. The only alteration
made to the Ring Road surrounding the hospital was an exit, which made
accessibility to the newly-established public parking more convenient for people.
• (Farzane Sedaghat)
• Given are two maps depicting a series of alterations applied to the road access to
the City Hospital from 2007 to 2010. Overall, it is quite evident from the provided
information that multiple features such as roundabouts and a bus station were
added to the hospital road. The Ring Road surrounding the main building of the
hospital, however, remained intact.

• It could be easily observed that two roundabouts were erected at the beginning and
the end of the Hospital Road, which facilitated connection between Ring Road,
hospital road and the new bus station. Moreover, the old fashioned bus stops
located on both sides of the Hospital Road were demolished. A bus station was,
nevertheless, built on the west of the Hospital Road.

• Furthermore, the car park to the south of the building, which was previously used
by not only the staff but also the public was converted into an exclusive car park for
the personnel of the hospital. What is more, a huge public parking lot was
established to the east of the main construction providing far more space for car
owners.
