QUESTION ONE
(a) System Implementation Stage and Six Activities (6 marks)
Overview:
The system implementation stage is when the system that has been designed and built
is actually put into use. This stage is very important because it confirms that the system
works as planned and meets user needs.
Six Activities:
1. System Installation: Setting up the new system on the actual hardware or
network where it will run.
2. Data Migration: Moving data from the old system to the new one so that nothing
important is lost.
3. User Training: Teaching users how to operate the new system effectively.
4. System Testing: Running tests to make sure all parts of the system work
correctly in the live environment.
5. Changeover/Conversion: Deciding on and executing the method to switch from
the old system to the new one (like parallel running, phased implementation, pilot
implementation, or direct cutover).
6. Post-Implementation Support: Providing help and fixing issues after the system
goes live.

(b) Problems Faced by a System Analyst (6 marks)

Technical Problems:
1. Integration Issues: The difficulty of making sure the new system works smoothly
with existing systems or technology.
2. Keeping Up with Technology: Rapid changes in technology can make it hard to
choose the right tools or techniques.
Human Problems:
1. User Resistance: Users may be reluctant to change because they are
comfortable with the old system or fear that the new system will be too hard to use.
2. Miscommunication: There can be misunderstandings between the analyst, users,
and developers, leading to incorrect system requirements.
