Story 1. Pre–teach
(20 mins) Lead – in:
- Ask Ss to name the characters with their feelings, describe what they are
doing and describe other things in the picture as many things as they can.
2. Teach:
- Ask Ss to listen and point to each speech bubble.
- Listen again and ask Ss to underline any new words (T writes on the board),
T models them, drills pronunciation, explain the meaning and invite Ss to
make a sentence or give an example.
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat sentence by sentence.
- Let Ss role-play
+ Divide the class into groups of 3 to play parts of characters.
+ Invite some groups to act the story out (the rest will take note and give
feedback)
3. Post–teach:
Check understanding:
- Ask Ss comprehension questions to check their understanding (invite 2 Ss to
come up to the board, put the bell in the middle, ask Ss to tap the bell if they
know the answer).
+ Does Tim like PE?
+ Do Rosy and Tim take their PE bags to school?
+ Has Tim got his PE clothes?
…
Further activities: Fill in the blank.
Discussion:
- Ask Ss what they feel about each character in the story, what they can learn
from the story.
Break Time (5 mins)
3/ Lesson 2: 1. a/ Lead-in:
Grammar - Revise the weekday words by listening a song then playing a small game.
(35mins) + Each student will be a day of the week. T says a day of the week, Ss who are
that day have to stand up then sit down. T starts slowly first then says faster
until Ss find it hard to keep up.
- Ask Ss to look at two first pictures and say what people are doing.
- Draw a timetable on the board. Ask Ss to list the subjects they have on each
day. Ask Ss “What have we got on Monday?”, “When have we got …?”. T writes
questions and students’ answer on the board.
Presentation:
- Introduce the structure:
+ “What have we got on …?” => We’ve got…
+ “When have we got …?” => We’ve got… on…

2. b/Lead-in
- Ask Ss to look at the two last pictures and say what is in the pictures.
- Ask Ss if people in the picture own the thing they are refering. T copies the
statement under each picture onto the board.
Presentation:
- Introduce the use of “their” and “our”
3. Practice:
Controlled activity:
- Read the structure along with miming the actions and ask Ss to repeat, rub
out the words of subjects, days, and replace them with flashcards and other
days to elicit sentences with the same patterns, then ask Ss to repeat.
- Invite Ss to change the word of activities to make new sentences and
questions.
- Ask Ss to do exercise 3,4 then check answers.
Guided activity: Match the question and answer
- Use the timetable in the lead – in activity, T writes couples of question –
answer and give each student a question and an answer that do not match
each other. Ss have to go around to find out the right question and answer of
theirs. When they fininish, come and show to T, if T confirms them right, then
stick those questions and answers on the board.
- Each pair with the right couple of question and answer stands up and reads
them out loud.
Free activity
- Ask Ss a piece of paper and let them go around to conduct a timetable of
another student.
Wrap-up - Play game to revise new words:
(5 mins) + Ask Ss to make a line with 6 flashcards.
+ Invite 2 Ss to stand on 2 sides of the line.
+ T reads the word, Ss jump to the corresponding flashcard and read out loud the
word. The faster will roll a dice and get the corresponding score.
