3/ Lesson 2: 1. Pre-teach:
Listening - Ask Ss to look at the picture, ask Ss some questions about the text, encourage
them to make predictions and describe the text as much as possible.
2. Teach:
- Ask Ss to close the books and listen for the first time, tell them that after
listening they have to answer questions:
+ How many people are there in the listening?
+ What is the listening about?
+ Where does it happen?
…
- Ask Ss to open their books, listen the second time and number.
- Listen again, pause after every sentence for Ss to check the answer.
3. Post-teach
Mix and match:
- Divide the class into two teams, give each team a paper with half a sentence
from the listening on it.
- Ss move around the class to find the one holding the other half of their
sentence, and then run to stick to the board.
- After all sentences are sticked on the board, T asks the whole class to reorder
them to make the correct listening.
Speaking 1. Lead-in:
- Ask Ss to list out all the school things in the picture.
2. Presentation
- Ask Ss to look at the picture again, T asks:
+ How many children/whiteboards/books/tables/desks… are there?
+ What colour is his hair/her hair/the table…?
(T writes question and answer structure on the board e.g How many + … +
are there?)
3. Practice:
Controlled activity:
- Ask Ss to read out loud the word pool.
- Invite two Ss to come up to the board and take turn to read the speech

- Ask Ss to work in pairs, ask and answer questions using the given words and
structures.
Guided activity:
- T makes a copy of the picture, numbers all the school things in the picture
and sticks it on the board.
- Divide class into some groups of two. In turn, each group asks and answer
about one school thing in the picture. Others listen and give comment, T
feedbacks.
Writing 1. Lead-in
- Draw a horizontal line on the board. In the lower part, write the lower-case
letters and ask Ss to come up to the board and write in the upper part the
capital forms of those letters
2. Presentation
- Ask Ss to close their books, write examples on the board. Ask one student to
come to the front and underline the capital letter at the start of sentences.
Ask another student to underline the capital letter at the start of the name.
