Printer Driver Installation

You must have Administrator rights on the PC to complete this.

1. Connect the printer to the PC or network.


Unplug the keyboard if attached to the printer and turn the printer ON.

(Make sure the printer is powered ON without any keyboard attached).

When the printer is first connected to the PC with a USB connection, Windows Plug & Play will try to install the
new hardware.

CANCEL THE PLUG & PLAY WINDOW.

2. Run the Printer Driver install program “DriverWizard.exe”.

(This program is found in the Driver folder in the Installation CD)

Select the USB or Network port for your printer.

Note: It is important to plug in the printer to the exact same USB connector on the PC, if it gets unplugged.

If the printer is re-connected to the computer on a different USB connector, plug and play will attempt to install
the printer again. You will have to repeat installing the printer.

Note: If the printer is installed again at a different USB port or connector on the computer, the computer will
give the printer a new name.

Please make sure the printer’s name is:


- TSC TTP-225 (Low Volume Printer: 442-0077)
- TSC TTP-2410M Pro (High Volume Printer: 442-0078 Old Model)
- TSC TTP-2410MT (High Volume Printer: 442-0078 New Model)

Bartender Software Installation

You must have Administrator rights on the PC to complete this.

From the CD
1. Insert the setup CD.

Browse to the folder “003Bartender”. Run the BTxxxxxTSC.exe program installation file.

Accept the default options, except the last one below:

At the last installation Window shown below, please un-check all the options, and click Finish.

Note: Please do not launch Bartender. If you do, please close it. You do not need to set up the program or
create any designs. The printers are programmed to a custom format. Bartender is used only as a user
interface to the printer.

2. Browse to the folder “004PrintingLabels” in the Installation CD.

Copy the HoseLabelsxxxxxx-CAT.BTW file to your Desktop.


To print Labels, open the BTW file to launch the Bartender/Printer Interface.

The printer must NOT be turned on with a keyboard plugged in when printing labels from Bartender.
Unplug the keyboard, and then turn on the printer.

From the Internet
1. The BarTender UltraLite software for TSC printers, can also be downloaded from
https://usca.tscprinters.com/en/downloads

2. Select Support & Downloads, then select Downloads, Labeling Software, and download Bartender.

Note: Please do not launch Bartender. If you do, please close it. You do not need to set up the program or
create any designs. The printers are programmed to a custom format. Bartender is used only as a user
interface to the printer.

The Caterpillar specific hose label template can be downloaded from:

3. Copy the HoseLabelsxxxxxx-CAT.BTW file to your Desktop.

To launch Bartender, click on the file HoseLabelsxxxxxx-CAT.BTW.

The printer must NOT be turned on with a keyboard plugged in when printing labels from Bartender.
Unplug the keyboard, and then turn on the printer.

Printing Labels from Bartender

1. Open the ****.BTW file on your desktop to print labels.


This file can be found in the installation CD folder – “004Printing Labels”.

The printer must not be turned ON with a keyboard plugged in when printing labels from Bartender.

Click the Printer Icon in the Toolbar.

2. The Print Options Window will appear. Verify your printer is selected and click Print.
(If this Window does not appear, please skip this, and go to the next step.)

Note: This Window is shown by default.


To hide this Window, close it and go to Tools, General Options, and check “Immediate Print from Toolbar”.

3. Fill in the fields and click Print.

To print duplicate label with identical Tracking ID, use the “COPIES” function within the Bartender software
(see below).

Note: The last 4-digits of the Tracking ID will be printed on the label copies below the Tracking ID QR code.

Note: When exiting the Bartender program, you will be asked to save changes.
You may save the last entries for future use.

Printing Labels from a Keyboard

1. Attach a Keyboard to the printer and power on the printer.


The LCD screen on the printer will now prompt you for Data Entry.

Note: If your printer displays the READY <<1>> prompt, enter the following 5 characters exactly as they
appear below followed by the Enter key on your keyboard:

2. The LCD screen on the printer will now prompt you for Data Entry.
If the printer is powered off, please re-enter <<1>> to use the keyboard.

Please do not leave the keyboard plugged in if you are going to print labels from the Bartender
program/computer.

Note: Keyboards with additional USB ports are NOT supported by the printer.

Updating the Printer Program - Using USB Cable

USB Cable:

1. Attach the printer to the PC and Power On.

2. Start the program ‘DIAGTOOLxx.xx.EXE”.

DiagTool_V1.54.exe is located in your Installation CD: 009_Utilities\PrinterProgram. The Printer


program is also located in the same folder.

The Diagtool and the printer program *FLASH.BAX files can also be downloaded from CAT:

If there is a Keyboard attached to the printer, turn off the printer, unplug the Keyboard, and turn the
printer back on.

3. Click the tool button “Ignore AUTO.BAS”.

(The printer will reboot)

4. Click the “File Manager” tab.

5. Click the “Format” option to erase the old software files. Click “OK” to confirm.

7. Click the tool button “Send File”.

(Browse to the printer program file called “**V***FLASH.BAX”, and double click on it.

8. Click the “File Manager” tab.

9. Select File Type BMP.

10. Browse to select the file SHOPCRT1.BMP & click Download.

11. Browse to select the file SHOPCRT2.BMP & click Download.

12. Close the Diagtool, and power off/on the printer.

The hose label program will now be loaded in the printer.

Note: If you use Bartender, Printer Program V1.417D REQUIRES a new Bartender template file.
Copy the file 2021_V1.417CAT.BTW to your desktop and launch Bartender from there.
You cannot use any older version BTW files.

Updating the Printer Program – Using Ethernet Cord
Using the Diagtool & Ethernet Connection

1. Start the program ‘DIAGTOOLxx.xx.EXE”.


DiagTool_V1.54.exe is located in your Installation CD: 009_Utilities\PrinterProgram.

The Diagtool and the printer program *FLASH.BAX files can also be downloaded from CAT:

Note: If there is a Keyboard attached to the printer, turn off the printer, unplug the Keyboard,

2. Click on the “Interface” drop down list and select Ethernet.


Click the tool button “Setup”.

The TCP/IP Setup Window will appear.


Select your printer and click Exit.

The hose label program will now be loaded in the printer.

Note: If you use Bartender, Printer Program V1.417D REQUIRES a new Bartender template file.
Copy the file 2021_V1.417CAT.BTW to your desktop and launch Bartender from there.
You cannot use any older version BTW files.

The New Bartender Print Window 2024 V1.417G Label Print

Updating the QR Barcode URL - From a USB Keyboard

The printer ships pre-programmed with https://qr.cat.com/ as the URL.


If you need to change that, follow the steps below.

1. Attach a USB Keyboard to the printer and power on the printer.

Note: If your printer displays the READY <<1>> prompt, enter the following 5 characters
exactly as they appear below followed by the Enter key on your keyboard:
<<1>>

2. Press the Enter key on the Keyboard until you see the prompt Working Pressure.
Enter the following 3 characters exactly as they appear below, followed by the Enter key:

3. The printer will now show you the prompt WEB URL.
Enter your new URL for the Barcode followed by the Enter key.

Examples: http://websiteurl.com or http://www.websiteurl.com

4. Print 1 label of any size to verify the new URL on the label.
Note: The URL is saved in the printer and will be saved when the power is off.

It is important to keep the website link as short as possible for cell phone reading.

There is a maximum of 50 characters reserved for the URL in the printer memory.

Please do not leave the keyboard plugged in if you are going to print labels from the Bartender
program/computer.

Keyboards with additional USB ports are NOT supported by the printer.

Updating the QR Barcode URL - From a Computer

Make sure the printer is turned ON without a Keyboard attached when programming the URL

1. Open the file HoseLabelsxxxxxCATURL.btw.


(This file is found in the Installation CD folder “004Printing Labels.)

2. Click the Printer Icon in the Toolbar.

The Print Options Window will appear. Verify your printer is selected and click Print.
(If this Window does not appear, please skip this, and go to the next step.)

Note: This Window is shown by default.


To hide this Window, close it and go to Tools, General Options, and check “Immediate Print from Toolbar”.

How to Install and Rename a 2nd Printer

1. Install the 2nd Printer.

2. Open the Bartender File.

3. Change the printer from #1 to #2.

4. Save the Bartender File with a NEW name.

Note: This will create 2 Bartender files on your desktop. Both can be used at the same time.
(There will be 2 tabs, or 2 windows open in the Bartender program).

▪ OR -

5. This method is for selecting a printer, each time you print:


a. Install the 2nd Printer.
b. Open the Bartender file.
c. Change the printer from #1 (TTP-2410M PRO) to #2 (TTP-225) as needed.

Running 2 Printers - On 1 Computer

When 2 Bartender files are open, they are either displayed as multiple tabs or side by side windows.

There can only be 1 Print Window open at any time.

The files remember which printer to send the data to.

1. If using multiple tabs or side by side windows, clicks the print button, then closes the tabs or windows when
finished with 1st printer.

2. Click the alternate window or tab for the 2nd printer, and then click the print button.

Print Modes for the TTP-2410M Printer (442-0078)

The Printer can be used in 1 of 3 PRINT MODES:

1. BATCH: Print all labels without stopping.


The entire quantity of labels will print at once without stopping between each label.

▪ When the printer prompts you for REWIND ON? Press the SELECT button.

The PRINT button is NOT used in this mode.

Note: BATCH Mode is only available in printer program versions 1.3 and higher.
The printer program version is displayed briefly during power up.

2. PRINT ONE LABEL for TEAR OFF: One label will print.
Press the Print Button for the next label to print. Repeat until all are printed.

▪ When the printer prompts you for REWIND ON? Press the DOWN arrow button.

Note: You must push the PRINT button for each label to print.

3. (OPTIONAL) - PEEL and PRESENT: The labels will dispense out the front of the printer.
Pre-peeled and ready for applying to the hose.

▪ When the printer prompts you for REWIND ON? Press the UP arrow button

Note: You must push the PRINT button for each label to print, peel & feed out.

The print must have the optional liner rewinder installed for this mode.

To reset the Print Mode, power OFF/ON the printer.

Change p/n to P/N | V 1.4A Printer Program is REQURIED

1. Attach a USB Keyboard to the printer and power on the printer.

Note: If your printer displays the READY <<1>> prompt, enter the following 5 characters exactly as they
appear below followed by the Enter key on your keyboard:

2. When the printer prompts you for the PART NUMBER entry, enter either CAP ON or CAP OFF.

Note:

CAP OFF will print p/n: as the Part Number prefix on the label.

CAP ON will print P/N: as the Part Number prefix on the label.

This setting is remembered when the power is off.

Note: This setting is only available in printer program versions 1.4A and higher.

The printer program version is displayed briefly during power up on the LCD screen.
If your printer does not display PROG V xx, then it is V 1.0

Please do not leave the keyboard plugged in if you are going to print labels from the Bartender
program/computer.

Keyboards with additional USB ports are NOT supported by the printer.

Programming the Printers IP Address

programming the IP Address!

Note: If there is a Keyboard attached to the printer, turn off the printer, unplug the Keyboard,
and turn the printer back on.

1. Connect the Printer to a PC with a USB Cable and turn ON the printer.

2. Start the program ‘DIAGTOOLxx.xx.EXE”.

3. Click the tool button “Ignore AUTO.BAS”.


(The printer will reboot)

4. Click the “Ethernet Setup” Button.

5. Click on “Static IP” or “DHCP” (this is a user option).

6. Enter the IP address information and then click “Set IP”.

Note: The IP address and the Printer Name must be programmed separately.
(They cannot be programmed at the same time).
Repeat all the steps in this instruction if you need to program the Printer Name.

7. Turn the printer off and then back on for the new settings to be in effect.

Adjusting Print Darkness – Density Setting

1. Connect the printer with a USB cable to a PC.

2. Start the program ‘DIAGTOOLxx.xx.EXE”.

442-0078 | Replacing the Print Head Assembly

1. Open the printer right side cover.


2. Turn the two print head pressure adjustment knobs counterclockwise to lowest index to minimize the pressure
applied to the print head.
3. Disengage print head release lever.
4. Remove the screw upon the print head mechanism.

5. Carefully disconnect connector from the print head assembly. Please DO NOT pull the cable to right and left
side alternatively to disconnect it from the print head connector. Please use a flat screwdriver to push at the
key in the middle of the connector. When the connector becomes loose from the print head connector, you can
disconnect it.

6. Remove/Replace the print head assembly.

7. Connect the print head cable and carefully slide assembly into the print mechanism. Make sure the two
locating protrusions on the print mechanism mounting plate snap into the locating holes on the print head.

8. Check the print head has been totally closed to the print mechanism before securing the print head by the
previously removed thumbscrew.

9. Reassemble the parts in the reverse procedures.

Note: Please use the NEW print head screw (provided separately) to replace the print head assembly.

Cleaning the Print Head

1. Open the printer right side cover to access the print head.

2. Clean the printhead, with a cotton cloth or swab, moistened in the cleaning solution.

Recommended cleaning solutions:


a. 100% Ethanol
b. 90% Alcohol based, Rubbing Alcohol
c. Pre-moistened Alcohol Pads

Note: Use great care when cleaning the printhead. Any physical damage (scratches, etc.) will cause a
permanent failure of the print head.

Verify Label Sensor

1. Align the label sensor "triangle" over the label.

Cleaning the Platen Drive Roller

1. Turn off the printer.


2. Remove the Label and Ribbon.
3. Clean the black roller with water and a soft cloth.
4. Turn the roller by hand to clean the entire surface area.

5. Clean all the Label guides/rollers, Ribbon guides, and the Label Sensor.
6. Verify the Label Guide Rollers are turning freely, and not binding.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Paper jam error & not printing in the correct location.

Check the following:

1. Sensor position
2. Correct Dash Size of hose not entered
3. Label is not fed through the printer properly
4. Do not Factory Default the printer
5. Labels are loaded in the printer upside down
6. Make sure the black mark is facing DOWN

Keyboard is not working.

Check the following:

▪ Incompatible keyboard is being used.


▪ Try another brand.
▪ Do not use a USB hub or any other device.
▪ Keyboards with USB ports on them, are not compatible with the printer.
▪ Program Version is READY <<1>>. Enter <<1>> on the keyboard to turn on direct keyboard mode.

Printer feeds out blank labels.

Check the following:

▪ Verify the ribbon is installed correctly.


▪ If the ribbon is installed upside down, it will not print anything.

BARTENDER SOFTWARE

Print window keeps closing after successfully printing:

▪ Go to: TOOLS, GENERAL OPTIONS, UNCHECK "Immediate Print from Toolbar".


▪ Close General Options Window.
▪ Next, click the PRINT button, On the Print Tab, click the sub-tab OPTIONS,
▪ Put a check in the box - "Automatically Print Again". Close the window.

Enabling direct Printing (bypasses printer selection window)

▪ Click TOOLS, GENERAL OPTIONS, and check the box "Immediate Print from Toolbar".

Cannot select the Printer

▪ Click TOOLS, GENERAL OPTIONS, and un-check the box "Immediate Print from Toolbar".

Printer not printing from Bartender, the printer was just used with a Keyboard

▪ Power the printer OFF and then back on without the keyboard attached.
▪ Close and reopen Bartender and start over.

Note: Whenever the printer is used with a keyboard attached, the printer must be turned OFF and then back
ON to print labels on-line from Bartender.

When using Bartender, an error message keeps popping up "Resource Error xx.x"

▪ Update the printer driver to the latest version.


▪ The printer drivers can be downloaded at www.tscprinters.com.
▪ Click on the Support tab and select Downloads. Locate your printer model.
