When the printer is first connected to the PC with a USB connection, Windows Plug & Play will try to install the
new hardware.
Note: It is important to plug in the printer to the exact same USB connector on the PC, if it gets unplugged.
If the printer is re-connected to the computer on a different USB connector, plug and play will attempt to install
the printer again. You will have to repeat installing the printer.
Note: If the printer is installed again at a different USB port or connector on the computer, the computer will
give the printer a new name.

From the CD
1. Insert the setup CD.
Browse to the folder “003Bartender”. Run the BTxxxxxTSC.exe program installation file.
At the last installation Window shown below, please un-check all the options, and click Finish.
Note: Please do not launch Bartender. If you do, please close it. You do not need to set up the program or
create any designs. The printers are programmed to a custom format. Bartender is used only as a user
interface to the printer.
The printer must NOT be turned on with a keyboard plugged in when printing labels from Bartender.
Unplug the keyboard, and then turn on the printer.

2. Select Support & Downloads, then select Downloads, Labeling Software, and download Bartender.
Note: Please do not launch Bartender. If you do, please close it. You do not need to set up the program or
create any designs. The printers are programmed to a custom format. Bartender is used only as a user
interface to the printer.
The printer must NOT be turned on with a keyboard plugged in when printing labels from Bartender.
Unplug the keyboard, and then turn on the printer.

To print duplicate label with identical Tracking ID, use the “COPIES” function within the Bartender software
(see below).

Note: This will create 2 Bartender files on your desktop. Both can be used at the same time.
(There will be 2 tabs, or 2 windows open in the Bartender program).

When 2 Bartender files are open, they are either displayed as multiple tabs or side by side windows.
1. If using multiple tabs or side by side windows, clicks the print button, then closes the tabs or windows when
finished with 1st printer.
2. Click the alternate window or tab for the 2nd printer, and then click the print button.

Note: BATCH Mode is only available in printer program versions 1.3 and higher.
The printer program version is displayed briefly during power up.
2. PRINT ONE LABEL for TEAR OFF: One label will print.
Press the Print Button for the next label to print. Repeat until all are printed.

1. Connect the Printer to a PC with a USB Cable and turn ON the printer.

Note: The IP address and the Printer Name must be programmed separately.

Repeat all the steps in this instruction if you need to program the Printer Name.
7. Turn the printer off and then back on for the new settings to be in effect.

3. Press left concave of the print head bracket then pick up the print head assembly.
4. Disconnect the print head harness. Replace the print head assembly.

1. Open the printer top cover and remove the lower front cover.
2. Disengage the platen holder tabs from the lower inner cover by pulling out the right side and left side tabs.

5. Carefully disconnect connector from the print head assembly. Please DO NOT pull the cable to right and left
side alternatively to disconnect it from the print head connector. Please use a flat screwdriver to push at the
key in the middle of the connector. When the connector becomes loose from the print head connector, you can
disconnect it.

8. Check the print head has been totally closed to the print mechanism before securing the print head by the
previously removed thumbscrew.
Note: Please use the NEW print head screw (provided separately) to replace the print head assembly.
DO NOT use the original screw.

2. Clean the printhead, with a cotton cloth or swab, moistened in the cleaning solution.
Note: Use great care when cleaning the printhead. Any physical damage (scratches, etc.) will cause a
permanent failure of the print head.
