"None" can be used as a subject, and the choice between singular and
plural verbs depends on what follows "None" (whether the noun is
countable or uncountable):
1. When the noun is singular or uncountable, we use a singular verb.
2. When the noun is plural, we use a plural verb.
Examples with Singular Noun (Uncountable or Singular):
1. None of the milk is left in the fridge.
(Milk is uncountable, so we use the singular verb "is.")
2. None of the information was helpful.
(Information is uncountable, so "was" is used.)
3. None of the equipment is working.
(Equipment is uncountable, so "is" is used.)
4. None of the advice is applicable here.
(Advice is uncountable, so "is" is used.)
5. None of the news is true.
(News is uncountable, so "is" is used.)
Examples with Plural Noun:

(Students are countable, so we use the plural verb "are.")
2. None of the books are available.
(Books are countable, so we use the plural verb "are.")

(Players are countable, so "are" is used.)
