XYZ City, 18 January 2023: A blood donation camp was organised by the RWA. Nandipura-
ll in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, in the community centre of the society on 18
January 2023. The purpose of this volunteer programme was to urge and encourage the
young adults, in and around the neighbourhood, to donate blood that can save many lives.
The camp started at 10 am and continued up to 3 pm. Around 350 adults, including college
students,attended the camp and donated blood. Dr Sanjeev Saxena, from the Red Cross
Society, appreciated the efforts of the RWA and the young adults for their overwhelming
response.
The secretary of the RWA, Dr Sanjeev Saxena and all the members of the RWA also donated
blood. Refreshments were served during the camp. Certificates of appreciation and blood
donor cards were given to all the donors. The secretary of the RWA proposed a vote of
thanks to all the participants.
The camp was a huge success. All the attendees understood and realised the importance of
blood donation. They all promised to continue the noble cause in future and serve humanity.

CYBERBULLYING AND ONLINE SAFETY

Last Friday, 13 October 20XX, PQR school organised a seminar on cyberbullying and online
safety in the school auditorium from 10 am to 12 pm.
The seminar was attended by counsellors and students from ten different schools. The
purpose of the seminar was to make the students aware of the instances of cyberbullying and
to tell them about the importance of online safety.
Dr Rao, Dr Sen and Dr Sidh were the guest speakers. They spoke on the perils of
cyberbullying and even discussed the issue with the counsellors and the students. They
emphasised that the students as well as their parents must be aware of the measures that can
be taken to prevent and control cyberbullying because with the increasing use of the internet,
the cases of cyberbullying are increasing rapidly. They said that online safety must be taken
as a serious issue. They also discussed and made everyone aware of the legal aid that is
available to the public.
The seminar was highly informative and turned out to be a huge success. The students
requested the organisers to organise such seminars more often in future.
An inter-school quiz contest 'Know Your Heritage' was organised by St. Marks School on
Friday, 14 March 20XX. The contest was organised in the school auditorium from 11 am to 1
pm. The purpose of the quiz contest was to promote heritage awareness among the students.
The questions asked in the quiz contest were from various fields and sections like History.
Mythology. Culture. Monuments, Handicrafts. etc. The quiz contained four rounds. Each
round was interesting in its own way and tested the knowledge of the participants. Even the
audience were allowed to ask questions in the 'audience question round. Everyone felt
engaged and excited. Attractive prizes were awarded for the 'audience question round’.
The event was highly informative and very interesting. The winners were awarded. Everyone
appreciated the efforts of the organising committee.
The quiz contest turned out to be a huge success due to the intellectual curiosity, teamwork
and competitive spirit of the students.
AUTO-MELA

New Delhi, 13 May 20XX: A one-day 'Auto-Mela' was organised by the Ministry of
Transport at the Institute of Driving. Saket on 12 May 20XX. The main purpose of the event
was to motivate women drivers to take up commercial driving. Mr S.P. Mehra, the
honourable Commissioner of Police inaugurated the day-long event.
He declared the event open by cutting the red ribbon. He started the event with an
introduction to commercial driving-its rules and regulations. He gave a short yet wonderful
speech. This was followed by a basic training session in self-defence for the women drivers.
A run-through of the licensing procedures and a sale of second-hand cars were also the parts
of the event. People visiting the 'Auto-Mela were given the opportunity to take a test-drive of
the available models of commercial vehicles.
All the participants were very happy as the event was very well organised. They expressed
their wish that such events should be held more often.
5. Recently a cultural programme was arranged in your school for raising funds to help
an association for handicapped children of your city. Write a report on it to be
published in your school magazine.
Last week, a cultural programme was arranged in our school with the help of local people for
raising funds to help an association for handicapped children.
A one-act play called 'God's people' was staged. It was appreciated by one and all Then songs
and dance followed. Everyone gave them a standing ovation. Bhangra received a great
applause. The programme ended after four hours at 7 pm.
The money collected from tickets and voluntary donations amounted to 70.000. The total
amount was sent to the Mitr-an association for handicapped children of our city. All the
teachers and the students were very happy as our programme turned out to be a great success.
6. You are Amrit/Amrita, the head boy/girl of Ryan International School, Gurgaon. ‘No
Tobacco Day’ organised by the Health Club of your school last week. Write a report for

Last Saturday XYZ school celebrated 'No Tobacco Day' in the school hall. The aim was to
create general awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco on human lives.
Posters and banners in and around the school campus were displayed. An exhibition was
arranged in the Activities' Room, to enlighten the people about "Tobacco-the silent killer”. It
highlighted the harmful effects of smoking, chewing inhaling tobacco. A public meeting was
also arranged. Eminent doctors, local dignitaries and general public participated. The doctors
highlighted how tobacco harms not only the user but also others adjacent to him. With the
help of slides, film strips and charts, they illustrated how tobacco impairs human throat, eyes,
lungs, digestion and blood circulation system. It could lead to mouth sores and cancer. Dr
Anuj Vats advised people to avoid the use of tobacco in any form.
The programme had a salutary effect on all.
8. The Golden Jubilee celebration of your school has just ended. It was a year-long
programme featuring an Inter-School Debating contest, a play festival, a fun fair, an
exhibition, special programme for ex students and parents and concluding with a grand

XYZ School completed fifty years of its existence on 'Basant Panchami'-5 February, this
year. To commemorate the event, a year-long programme of celebrations were planned.
Meetings of staff, and students' council were held. An organising committee comprising the
principal, five members of the staff, office bearers of the student council was constituted. A
calendar of curricular activities was chalked out. It was decided to hold an exhibition of art,
craft and science at school level. Fancy dress and dance competitions were held for the
primary section. A golden jubilee issue of the school magazine was also brought out. Inter-
school debate contest and a play festival were held in September and October. During
November, special programmes were staged by ex-students. On the concluding day, a dance-
drama 'Eklavya' was presented. It was acclaimed by the audience.
The celebration was a resounding success and a truly proud moment for the entire school
community.
9. The library of your school has been expanded and modernized with the facilities of
computer, internet connection and video tapes. It has been shifted to a new block which
is more spacious and better ventilated. As Rishabh/Ruchika, write a report for your

A newly built and well-equipped library was housed in a spacious and better ventilated
complex. It is detached from the main block. It has a large hall with seating capacity for 500
students. The tables and chairs have been arranged tastefully. The curtains on the large
windows match the sobriety of the place.The walls are decorated with posters and pictures.
There are four other halls adjoining it.
The books on different subjects are kept in almirahs there. Even the catalogue has been
computerised. By making internet connection available to the computers in the library, it now
has access to the latest books in the world. Moreover, the facility of borrowing educational
audio and video tapes in addition to two books at a time has been implemented.
Indeed it is an applaudable gesture of the school to promote love for reading amongst
children.
10. You are Sarika of Govt. Model Sr. Sec School, Chandigarh. The Annual Sports Day
of your was held on 12 February 20XX. Write a report for your school magazine giving

THE ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

On 12 February 20XX, the Annual Sports Day of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School was held in
the school playground. A colourful shamiana was erected for guests and teachers. The stands
were also tastefully decorated. The athletes gathered in front of the stage at 8.30 a.m. There
was a march-past. The principal administered the oath and declared the sports-meet open. At
9.30 a.m. the track events began with 200 metre race for boys and 100 metre race for girls.
Field events like long jump, high jump, javelin throw and discus throw were held in between
the races. The programme was beautifully planned. In the afternoon the cycle race, sack race
and three legged-race provided amusement. The musical chair race for the guests provided a
lot of fun. Kamal Nath of XII A was declared as the best athlete.
The tireless effort, sportsmanship and enthusiasm made the event a resounding success,
creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
11. You are Aditi/Aditya of Rani Laxmi Bai School, Jhansi. The Children's Day was
celebrated in your school on 14 November this year. You took an active part in the

The Children's Day was celebrated in Rani Laxmi Bai School on November 14, this year. It is
celebrated each year on the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru in schools all over India.
This year it was celebrated with great pomp and show. The Education Minister was the chief
guest. A cultural programme was organised. An array of dances, songs and one-act plays
were presented. Students recited poems. In the morning sports were held. A Bal Mela was
also organised in the afternoon. The students arranged the stalls there. Parents and other
visitors went round the stalls. They purchased the items prepared by students. The chief guest
awarded prizes to the winners of sports, best stalls and cultural events. The function came to
an end with a thanks-giving ceremony.
It was indeed a truly special tribute to the magic of childhood.
