For VDR (MSC.333(90): Inclinometer with an electronic output must be recorded if fitted. Electronic logbook must be recorded if fitted.
For VDR (A.861(20)): Recording of AIS is optional.
For all VDR: Acceleration and hull stresses must be recorded where ship is fitted with IMO mandated monitoring equipment. Wind speed
and direction must be recorded where ship is fitted with suitable sensor.
For S-VDR: Must be recorded if sensor data is available in accordance with IEC61162).

Radar data may be substituted by AIS if the radar for technical reasons cannot be connected to an S-VDR.

4.1 APT
4.1.1 Fixed capsule
The capsule orange foil has faded/been damaged. Use P/N: 3304576 Orange foil, replacement for
Danelec MK4 capsule.

4.1.2 Echo sounder


There was no value in the Echo sounder data. This should be checked and verified

4.1.3 Not latest SW version


The VDR should be upgraded to the latest software. Version 2.29 is available on Danelec partner
site. (This is not accord to the terms set in Danelec Service Policy Commitment)

4.1.4 Thruster
Sample of the signal is required for review. Submit a dump-for-support file when signal is available
to customersupport@danelec.com

4.2 VDR Explorer
4.2.1 RDI – Digital
The naming of the digital data should be checked and updated accordingly.

4.2.2 UTC Time and Date


The source of UTC Time and UTC Date should be SI04 - GPS

4.2.3 AMS (SI07)


The AMS data should be decoded with suitable objects. Refer to equipment documentation on the
ship for info, otherwise inform owner/crew to seek manufacturers for relevant NMEA decoding list
to interpret the data

5 Danelec Marine’s acceptance
A major issue and a number of minor issues (which must be fixed latest at the next APT) were
discovered during the review.

Danelec Marine has reviewed the APT data and will issue a certificate when issue described in
section 4.1.4 is resolved.
