 : - Memorable day of my life…..

Our orientation day was hosted beautifully by seniors

of IT department. They decorated class where this
orientation program was held in an amazing and
impressive manner, which made us feel very comfortable
despite being the first day at college.
As we all know that every new beginning is always
initiated by remembering and taking blessings from God,
we also did the same. After the prayer seniors welcomed
us and gave an introductory speech along with the
central presentation about the IT department of LD
engineering college. In this presentation they included
things like:

We were also welcomed by the principal Dr. R.K. Gajjar
of LDCE through a virtual message. She congratulated us
on getting admission into LDCE college and also gave us
an idea about the huge and wonderful campus of LDCE. Her
message made us feel very special for being in LDCE.
Our HOD Dr. Hiteishi Diwanji gave us her introduction
and also congratulated us. She gave us the detailed
information of the IT department and also made us aware
about our responsibility as a student of LDCE. She tried
to motivate us by giving examples of various students,
their achievements and conveyed the message of not to
stop trying in life. We all felt very lucky that we got
her as our HOD as she is very interactive and friendly.
She also gave introduction of the faculty of IT
department. All the faculty member seemed very friendly
and helping.
At the end of this orientation program, we were all
taken on a wonderful and never forgettable campus tour
by our seniors. On our way we asked many questions to
the seniors regarding college and they answered every
question in a very nice manner. In the midway of our
tour, we were welcomed by the Dhanak club. They enacted
a play of LD college, which we all found very
entertaining.

The first session of universal human values was taken
by HOD ma’am in which she made us all list important
human values. She also explained importance of imparting
those values in oneself. She made this session very
interactive by conducting group discussions wherein she
told us about what qualities we should be
inspired of from our role models. At the
end of this session, she gave us task to
write about our role models.
Next session was taken by the members of
Ethicscraft club. They presented
presentation in which a difference of spirituality and
materiality was explained and importance as well as how
to balance both was explained to us. The session was
very effective for all of us.

In another session HOD ma’am made us all
enact a play involving message regarding
human values in it. All the groups came up
on stage and enacted a play on different
human values. My friends and I also enacted
a play involving a message of
helpfulness in it. After this activity she
narrated incidence from Ramayana and informed us abot
the human values associated with each character in it.
At the end of the session, she explained us that the way
we behave reflects in our personality.
In the last session of universal
human values seniors showed us one
of the best inspiring movies
‘Rocketry: The Nambi effect’. This
movie taught us to have strong
determination for ambition and not
to stop working hard in order to
achieve it.

 "Creativity is intelligence
having fun."
In the first session of
creative art seniors gave us
task to introduce ourselves in
a creative way. This session
was amazing as everyone showed
their
creativity by
introducing themselves like famous
Bollywood actors, introducing in
technical manner in terms of codes or by
drawing on blackboard.
After this activity there was a small craft activity in
which we were all blindfolded and were supposed to follow
the instructions given by seniors and cut the paper as
per the instructions given by seniors. This activity
taught us the importance of concentration in life.

In another session there was a poster making activity
wherein we were given two topics on which we were
supposed to make a poster. The topics given to us were
i) Beti Bachao and ii) Mobile addiction. This activity
taught us how to express ideas in an attractive and
creative way. All the posters made by my classmates
conveyed eye-opening messages to all of us.

Another session of creative art was taken by member from

Iskon temple. He made us all chant name of God together
which gave very positive energy to all of us. He also
taught us how to control 5 sense organs and its
usefulness.

In the last session of creative art seniors gave us task

of discussing any one topic of physics in a group and

presenting it on the stage. This session was very
informative as all the groups came up on the stage with
different topics

on the stage. After this activity

we played a game called dumsharas
which helped us to create a bond
with classmates.

 In all the sessions of
physical activity we
were all taken to ground
where seniors and we
played together. These
sessions helped a lot in
creating bonds with
seniors. We played
different games like
badminton, flying dish,
cricket, kho etc. These
sessions acted as a
refreshing activity for us. In those session when we
were not able to go to the ground due to rain, in those
sessions we solved puzzles and riddles together which
acted as brain sharpening activity for us.

One of these sessions was
taken by Digesh sir. He
initiated the lecture by
giving short details of
concepts that we will learn
in first sem. He also taught
us important graphs and also

made us all see a video

on importance of maths
in life from which we
learned that maths is
used in our daily life.
He also taught us some
basic graphs which are
going to be helpful for
the entire engineering
studies.
Another session was
taken by Prof. Zalak sir
who made us watch a video
in which 50 tricks on
vedic maths was there.
Along with that he also taught cartesian plane
coordinates and how to use scientific calculator. This
session taught us how to do our calculation fast by
using vedic maths.

 “Innovation: Imagine the
future and fill in the gaps.”
This session of innovation was
taken by our seniors in which
we were all grouped together in
a group of 4 to 5 members and
we were given a task to
introduce simple products in an innovative manner. All
the classmates presented various simple things like pen,
watch, bag, earphones etc. This session was very helpful
as it taught us the importance of innovations in life
and how to convince others about our product by informing
them about very minute features of it.

 This lecture was taken
by trainers from
‘Renaissance- a new
awakening’ classes.
They not only gave us
tips on basic grammar
but also taught us how
to calculate squares
of number till 125 in
mind without calculator or pen paper. Through this
session we gained basic information of GRE, IELTS, SAT
and TOEFL.

 The first session of
proficiency module was
taken by Mayuri ma’am.
She commenced the lecture
by making us solve few
quiz questions on basic
grammar like subject verb
agreement, tenses,
pronouns etc. After this activity she taught ut how to
introduce ourselves by using mining vocab, idioms and
expressions on the stage. This session was very
interactive and helpful as it not only imparted
confidence in each one of us while speaking English but
also made us aware about the importance of enlish
language during placement interviews.

students and we were
all supposed to enact a
play in English as per
the situation given to
us. This was a fun
session as the

friends after long time, office situation etc. This
session taught us how to work in a group and be fearless
while speaking English along with acting on the stage

In the next session of proficiency module, we were taught

the correct usage of three basic tenses by Mayuri ma’am.
She gave us an activity in which we had to speak on any
one topic out of given 3 topics. The topics given to us
were i) My daily routine ii) My first day at college
iii) How I want to be in future. The topic on which I
spoke was ‘My first day at college’ and after finishing
my speech I got compliments from ma’am which boosted my
confidence. This session made us all aware about using
the correct tenses in daily routine in order to make it
more effective.

The last session of this module was taken by Nandini mam

in which she taught us how to write essays and its
paragraph structures. She taught us each and everything
in order to write an appropriate essay right from
introduction to conclusion.

On our visit day we were all taken to an amazing museum
name ‘LD museum’ (NC Mehta art gallery). In this museum
we saw beautiful paintings that were painted years ago
narrating beautiful incidences from Ramayana and many
more things. This museum also had amazing coins and
sculptures which reflects creative skills and
intelligence of our ancient sculptors. They made it in
such a manner that none of them have got damaged yet.
This museum reflects bright and rich culture of Indian
history in detail and connects us with our roots. After
we finished watching all the things in the museum, we
were all made to sit in the main hall of the museum and
the member of that museum told us about the history of
this museum. After this activity we spent some time
outside the museum which is full of greenery and peace.

 Members from Robocon technical team
explained about their club and all
the past achievements of LDCE in
this robotics field. They also told
us about how hardworking the whole
team is and the fun of making robots
in a team. We felt very proud of
our college. We couldn’t stop
ourselves from clapping when they were announcing the
achievements of our college. We felt very proud of LDCE’s
Robocon team. In this orientation we all came to know
about how robots actually work and the amount of hard
work required in order to make a working robot. This
whole orientation session was very informative as well
as energetic.

HOD ma’am and co ordinator of our department Nirjari
ma’am wished us Goodluck for the journey of four years
in this college. Seniors also wished the same to us. We
definitely experienced change in our personality after
spending 10 good days of induction programme. Through
this induction programme came to know about our
responsibility towards the college in order to maintain
its reputation.
This induction programme created an environment for
students so that we feel comfortable, create bonds with
classmates as well as with seniors, learn human values,
improve communication skills and importance of
creativity in life. All the activities which we did made
us feel more comfortable in the college and made us more
confident while expressing ourselves on the stage. I
would never be able to forget these best 10 days of my
life.
