Iot Architecture

The IoT architecture consists of four main layers: Perception Layer, Network Layer, Edge Layer, and Application Layer. The Perception Layer collects data from the environment, the Network Layer transmits this data, the Edge Layer processes it locally for real-time analysis, and the Application Layer delivers value through data analysis and user interaction. Each layer plays a crucial role in the overall functioning of IoT systems.

IOT ARCHITECTURE

• IOT Architecture layers:

• The Internet of Things (IoT) architecture typically consists of four

main stages or layers, each responsible for specific tasks in the
overall IoT system. These stages work together to collect,
process, analyze, and act on data from connected devices.
Here are the four stages of IoT architecture:

1) Perseption Layer
2) Network layer
3) Edge Layer
4) Application Layer
• Perception Layer (Sensing Layer):

This is the first layer where physical devices (like sensors, actuators,
and other IoT devices) collect data from the environment. The
perception layer involves the actual sensing or detection of
parameters like temperature, humidity, motion, or pressure.

• Network Layer (Transmission Layer):

The network layer is responsible for transmitting the data collected

by devices in the perception layer to other systems for further
processing. This can include a variety of communication
technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, cellular networks, or
LPWAN.
• Edge Layer (Processing Layer):

In this layer, data is processed locally or at the "edge" of the

network, often using edge computing technologies. The edge
layer reduces the need to send large amounts of data to central
servers by performing real-time data analysis, filtering, and
decision-making close to the source. It may involve devices like
gateways or edge servers, which can handle basic analytics and
reduce latency.

• Application Layer:

The application layer is where the IoT system delivers its value
to users or other systems. This layer handles the data analysis,
visualization, and specific applications that use the collected
data, such as smart homes, industrial automation, or healthcare
systems. It provides the interface through which users or other
applications interact with the IoT system and make decisions
based on the data insights.
