Chapter - I

Many in our world believe that this trope in certain animes - the "isekai" trope,
was not real. How does this trope go? Well, it starts off with the main character
(most commonly, a male) crossing a road of some sorts. Then,
the main character gets hit by a vehicle (mostly a truck) and dies. Next, the main
character gets transported to another world, hence the word; "isekai". Now, that
main character must survive in that world.

Hoping to come back where they used to be.

This is a story of a group of teenagers being transported to another world. An

isekai. However, the world they were transported to is a very cruel, yet beautiful
one. Must you wonder, what is hiding underneath that veil?

Soon, shall you find out.

Throughout the forests of Rellochia, the body of a young girl; aged 14, layed there
unconscious. A mint colored jacket was covering her body, almost as if it was
acting like a blanket. Suddenly, the girl started squirming
and whimpering in her sleep, whilst beads of sweat rolled down her face. In her
ears and eyes, she saw a village being destroyed. She could hear the screams of the
villagers. Their pleads - begging to be spared from
harm. But just then, everything stopped. A figure wearing a hood, killed those
innocent villagers in one slash with his claymore. All those people...

Gone.

The young girl gasped as she awoke. Holding onto the emerald-green grass
surrounding her. She sat up from her sleeping position and scrutinized her
surroundings. She was in a forest. The sounds of the trees whispering
made her slightly calm down. Although, she heard someone's footsteps coming from
behind her. She looked behind her, and saw someone she knew.

"Denise?" She said in shock. The said girl smiled at her, before saying: "Yes, it's
me. So, how're you holding up?" "I'm fine. Just a bit cold... Anyways, where are
we?" The 14 year old girl asked.

"I'm not sure. I've never seen or been to this place before. But right now, let's
just rest up and think of what we should do next." Denise said, sitting on the soft
grass that surrounded the two.

"Come on, sit down, Patricia. It's not like the grass can kill you." She chuckled.
Patricia then walked over to where Denise is and sat right next to her. "Right,
here's your jacket..." The girl handed over the mint colored
jacket to Denise. "Ah no, you can keep it. Unless if I'm cold as well, just keep it
for now." She said. The two girls sat down next to each other in comfortable
silence. The scenery was beautiful and serene. Everything from the
soft green grass, the lilies with a sweet smell, the beautiful birds resting cutely
in their nests, and the sound of the trees whispering... It all looked perfect.
So perfect, that it almost felt like it wasn't real.

Soon after, the silence was broken. For they had heard a scream coming from the
distance. This had shocked Patricia from her daze, thus she fell on her back. "Pat,
get up. That scream sounded like Andrei's." She said.

"He's here too?" "I don't know, maybe? The only one I can remember screaming like
that is Andrei." "How in love are you with him to the point you remember his own
screams?" "Shut up." "Whatever, let's just go." And
with that, the two girls ran to the area where they heard their friends scream.

As they were running, Patricia was running the opposite direction of where they
were going. "Hey, Pat! That's the wrong way!" Denise facepalmed. She stood at her
place, pinching the bridge of her nose. Patricia came
back with two rocks. "...What are those supposed to be?" She asked. "They're
rocks." "No shit, Sherlock." "Yeah, but we can use them as weapons." Denise stared
at the rocks with a blank face, "Seriously?"

"Look, do you wanna save your crush!? Maybe he's in danger and maybe we can use
these rocks just in case." Patricia said. "Wha-!? Since when was he my crush!
Ugh... Whatever, let's bring these puny rocks anyway."

The girls got to the area where they heard their friend screaming. "Andrei! So it
really was you!" Denise said as she instantly (quote on the word; "instantly) ran
to his side. "Why do you look like a mummy?" Denise
asked. She refered to Andrei, whose body was wrapped in vines. "I don't know! When
I woke up, I was in a bed full of vines! There was a vine wrapped around my
stomach, so I tried to get it off. Somehow... The vines kept
wrapping around me, and the more I moved, the more is got worse." He elaborated.
"*Sigh*... What an idiot. C'mon Pat, let's try to untie him." Denise said.

"How thick are these vines!? The rocks hasn't even cut off an inch!" Denise said as
she aggresively tries to cut the vines. "I think we need something sharper, but
right now, we don't have anything. Let's just-"

Patricia's voice was cut off when the ground started shaking. "What the... An
earthquake! I'm screwed!" Andrei exclaimed. "Calm down! We'll get you out of here.
Come on, quickly Pat!" Denise said as she desperately
tried cutting the vines. "I'm trying! The rocks aren't sharp enough!" Patricia
exclaimed.

"Shit."

A while before Patricia woke up, somewhere not so far from the forest, a group of
girls were wandering about. One girl with medium-lengthed hair was asleep. Another
had short hair, whilst the last was carrying the
sleeping girl in her arms.

As they walked, the sleeping girl had awoken. She slowly opened her eyes and
muttered names familiar to her. "Lorraine...? And... Aaliyah?" She muttered. The
girl carrying her - Lorraine, noticed her awake. "Aaliyah,
Princess is awake. Let's stop by somewhere to rest." She said.
The girls stopped by at a tree. Lorraine slowly laid down the medium-lengthed
haired girl, with the tree trunk being her headboard. The girl rubbed her eyes and
let out a small yawn. "Where are we?" She said. "Not
sure, but we're in a forest." Aaliyah said as she looked around her surroundings.
"We found you unconcious near a pond. Lorraine almost thought you were dead, she
broke down. Hehe, the look on her face was
priceless when I told her that you were alive." She said, changing the topic.
Hearing this, Lorraine shyly looked away.

The two girls caught her looking away and snickered.

The three girls sat together at the bottom of the tree, exhausted. They got bored
after a while, so they went cloud gazing to feed their boredom. "That one looks
like... Like a phone." Aaliyah pointed to the cloud that
looked like a phone. "*Sigh*... I miss my phone." She said. Princess's eyes averted
from the clouds, to Aaliyah's index finger. "Are you okay? Why's your finger
bandaged?" She asked. "Oh, this? Me and Lorraine were trying
to find some food a while ago. I found some berries, but the stems were quite
sharp. My finger got scratched when I tried picking one up." Aaliyah said.

"Oh... I see." "Speaking of those berries, want one? Don't worry, they're not
poisoned. I tested them myself." Lorraine offered a pouch of the berries. Princess
picked up one of the berries and took a closer look at them.

They were the same color of roses, but slightly tinted with pink. It had a sweet
fragrance, almost like strawberries. She took a small bite of the berry, and it was
surprisingly good. Though she didn't know how to describe
the flavour. "Mm. This is good. Y'all should eat some." She said, giving the pouch
to the girls beside her. They gladly took one berry and ate it.

Aaliyah passed the pouch that carried the berries. Unfortunately, they ran out. But
at least their hunger has ebated. "Wah... Those berries tasted really good. Too bad
we ran out. Anyways, shouldn't we get going
somewhere else where? Maybe there's some people here that can help us." Princess
said.

"Sure. And even if we don't find any people, at least we can understand our
surroundings more. C'mon, let's go." Aaliyah said as she stood up.

The girls ventured deeper into the forest, and they recognized how beautiful the
scenery was. Lorraine knelt down by a flower that was glowing. "Denise would've
loved these flowers if she saw them. I wonder how she's
doing..." She wondered. Princess knelt down beside her and smiled. "Yeah, she would
love these. Maybe let's take a few with us?" She said. "Good idea. Maybe we can use
that pouch we used to put the berries in."

They carefully plucked the flowers out of the ground, and put them in the pouch.
"Alright. That's enough. Lorraine, are you ready?" Princess asked. "Yup. Let's go
back with Aaliyah." Lorraine said.

When they got back, Aaliyah turned to them with a small smile on her face. "You
guys done?" She asked. The two girls before her nodded and gave her the pouch of
flowers. "Here, I don't trust myself enough to carry
these." Princess said. Aaliyah nodded and they headed off.

Suddenly, they felt the ground shaking. "What the...?" Princess muttered. "Guys..."
Aaliyah started. "Yeah?" "What is that...!?" Aaliyah pointed behind her. Princess
and Lorraine's eyes averted to the direction to which
she was pointing, and saw a group of strange creatures which appeared to be demons,
coming towards them with their horses.

"Shit, RUN!" Princess shouted. She grabbed Aaliyah and Lorraine's hand while
running forwards. The demons noticed their fast pace, so they quickened theirs.
"Crap! They're catching up!" Lorraine shouted as she looked
behind. Unexpectedly to her, Princess carried her in her arms. Lorraine was so
distracted by the current situation, so she did not notice that she was being
carried. The demons were getting closer, and the girls'
stamina was quickly depleting. Lorraine finally noticed she was being carried, and
spoke. "...Put me down! I'll slow you down if you keep carrying me!"

Princess gently put her down and continued to run. They were way behind Aaliyah,
who had more stamina than them. And that made the both of them get closer to the
demons.

Lorraine grabbed Princess' hand and ran faster than ever before. She was panting
for air, but she kept running.

"HURRY UP! They're getting closer!" Aaliyah yelled out from in front of them.
Hearing this, the two girls holding hands forgot what stamina was anymore. They ran
as fast as a cheetah, and catched up with
Aaliyah. Still, the demons got to their tail either way. The person who led the
group of demons shouted. "Let's split into two teams of 5! Halvard, lead the first
team! I will lead the other. Remember your objective: Capture
those brats and bring them to Lord Khorne! He will deal with them." "Yes sir!" The
demons obeyed his command, and as ordered, the demons split up in teams.

The shaking of the ground made Aaliyah drop to the ground. Lorraine and Princess
stopped to help her up, but she shouted; "GO ON WITHOUT ME! I'll manage." The two
girls hesitated at first, but they went on anyway.

Using the last of her strength to get up, she ran to the other direction, far from
where Lorraine and Princess is. The second team with the leader chased her into the
forest. Meanwhile, with the other two, they lost their
speed from a few moments ago. Thus, they're running quite slowly. Their legs
eventually gave in and collapsed on the floor panting.

When the demons reached them, the demon named "Halvard" got off his horse and
slowly walked up to the two girls. He slowly raised his sword...

Then suddenly, an arrow pierced his head.

He collapsed on the floor, and the two girls were frightened at the sight. They
hugged each other, hoping to not get shot as well. Although, nothing came. They
slowly opened their closed eyes, and saw a hooded figure
fighting the demons. At the same time, switching between hand-to-hand combat and
the bow.

The two only stared at them in awe. Their moves were done gracefully, but brutal.
The person grabbed one of the demons' head and threw him. While the demon was mid
air, they summoned their bow and shot two
arrows engulfed with flames at him. When the arrows touched his body, his body went
on fire and turned into ashes. They then made the bow and arrow disappear, and
switched to hand-to-hand. They lunged at one
of the demons, and kicked him on the stomach. The demon got to his knees in pain.
The hooded figure grabbed the demon's head and brutally bashed it to the ground.
Somehow, the demon was still alive.

They summoned their bow again, and shot at the demon. They dealt with the remaining
demons afterwards.

The unknown individual removed his hood, and it revealed such a handsome face. He
turned to the girls with cold, emotionless eyes and approached them. The two girls
buried their heads in each other's shoulders, scared
of what's going to happen.

"Calm down. I'm not here to kill you, nor harm you in any way." He said. Princess
held onto Lorraine tightly as she opened her eyes and turned to where the voice
came from. "Who are you?" She asked in a shaky
voice. He knelt down in front of them, still wearing that stone-cold face. "My name
is Drahcir. You?" He asked. Princess hesitated at first, but her name suddenly came
out of her mouth. "Princess..." She said. He looked at
Lorraine in her arms and asked; "And her?"

"Lorraine." She said.

The two stared at each other for a few moments, when Drahcir suddenly let out a
sigh. "I suggest getting out of here and head to the kingdom of Rellochia. If
you'll excuse me, I'll-" He was cut off when Princess held
his wrist. She looked at the ground, shaking. "Please don't leave us alone." She
said.

Memories flood through Drahcir's mind.

𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞

"Please don't leave me alone... DRAHCIR!" A voice of a young girl said. The young
girl clinged onto Drahcir's leg tightly in tears. She lifted her head to see him,
but was met with a cold gaze. What she didn't know, was
that behind those emotionless eyes, there was guilt. Regret. And sorrow.

The girl sobbed. "Please don't leave me alone again..." She said as she buried her
head into his leg even more.

Drahcir pried her off from his leg, leaving her to cry on the ground. He slowly
walked forward, not giving a single glance. Although he stopped for a moment, and
clenched his fist. "Don't follow me, and don't get into this
mess. This is my battle to fight. I'm not your big brother anymore, and I never
will be again." He said. He clenched his fist tighter, drawing blood. With a heavy
heart, he walked away from his little sister. The young girl
reached her hand out to him, but slowly retracted it back.

"Don't leave me alone..."

𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞

His face had a look of pure shock as he stared at Princess. He snapped out of his
gaze and shook her hand away from his wrist. "Fine. Follow me." He said with an
annoyed tone.

Noticing that Princess hasn't moved yet, he looked behind. "You coming or not?" He
asked. "Uhm... Lorraine passed out. She won't budge..." She said. Drahcir let out
an exasperated sigh and walked up to them. "Give her
to me, I'll carry her." He said. As Princess was about to give her to him, she
froze. "Actually, I'll carry her myself." She said as she glared at Drahcir. "Good
luck on carrying her. Come on, let's go." He rolled his eyes at her.

Princess rolled her eyes back and carried Lorraine on her back.

Meanwhile, with Aaliyah, things have gone quite crazy for her. She was forced into
a world she never wanted to be in, is being chased by a group of demons, and her
legs are eventually gonna break. Despite the conditions
she was in, she kept running. 'Forget my aching legs, I WANNA LIVE!' She thought
inside her head.

She was then greeted by the light of day, but the chase wasn't over yet. She found
Denise and Patricia trying to get vines off of Andrei's body. Relieved, but also
scared, she almost lost her voice by screaming. "GUYS! RUN!"

Denise and Patricia noticed the group of demons behind her and panicked.
'Demons...? What are we, in an Isekai?' Patricia thought. "PAT! GET YOURSELF
TOGETHER, WE'RE IN TROUBLE!" Denise shouted. Since the
ground was shaking so violently, Denise and Patricia fell on the ground. "Shit...!"
Patricia shouted. "Well look what we have here. More of those brats. Bring those
kids too!" The leader of the group shouted. "Why are they
after us!?" Andrei shouted. "I don't know! Let's just get to safety!" Aaliyah
shouted back.

One of the demons threw their lance at Andrei. Just when he was about to get
impaled by the weapon, Denise rushed in on time to save him. "You okay?" She said
out of breath. Andrei turned red at his position. He was
being carried bridal style, by his crush, who is a girl. Oh, how much that damaged
his pride.

"I can run by my-" He was cut off by a tomato-red Denise. "SHUT UP! Do you wanna
die!? If so, then I'll gladly drop you right here right now!" She shouted.

"..."

"I thought so." She said, looking away from his face as she stood up. "DENISE!
HURRY UP!" Patricia said as she dodged the demon's attacks just barely. "Let's go
to the forest! It looks narrow, their horses won't fit!" She said
as she sprinted to where Aaliyah is. "They've got axes, swords and lances! They can
cut through the wood, Denise!" Aaliyah shouted, breaking her voice completely.
"Dammit... Let's manage I guess!" She said.

The group sprinted to the narrow forest, with the demons behind them. As Andrei was
being carried, he rested his chin on Denise's shoulder to try seeing what was
happening behind. 'Holy shit...' He thought. Though,
his thoughts were cut off when Denise slapped the back of his head. "Ow! What was
that for!?" He said angrily. Denise looked at him with a steaming red face. "WHAT
DO YOU MEAN 'What was that for"!? Know your
boundaries, piece of-!" Their bickering was stopped when Patricia shouted at them.
"Oh, shut the fuck up! Excuse my language, but this isn't the time to act lovey-
dovey!"

The two rolled their eyes at Patricia, who so gladly rolled her eyes back.

They continued running and running, and their legs were beginning to ache. Except
for Andrei, of course. As they were running, some chains surrounded Patricia's
ankles, and pulled her towards the demons. She screamed
as she got dragged on the floor. "PATRICIA!" The group yelled. "Aaliyah, catch!"
Denise threw Andrei to Aaliyah, which made him scream in fear of getting hurt.
Luckily, he was being carried by Aaliyah.

Denise rushed to Patricia, and as she got close to the leader who used the chains,
she grabbed out the rock that Patricia gave and pierced his eye. The leader
screamed in pain and his chains magically disappeared. Denise
took the chance to grab Patricia's hand and run back to Andrei and Aaliyah. The
demons stopped to check on their leader. One of them brought some bandages and some
medicinal liquid to clean his now gone eye.

"Master Heftsus, what should we do? Your eye is in need of healing, and our horses
are tired. Please give us your orders." One of the demons asked. "Tsk... Go find
them. The four of you track them down on foot. You
stay at a place where you suspect those teenagers are hiding, and send a crow to me
to let me know. I'll be there." He said. "Understood!" And with that, the rest of
the demons except for their leader headed off to the
direction where the group was last seen.

As the demons walked towards the direction they ran, they noticed something on the
ground. One of the demons picked up a pouch full of Zenia flowers, the flowers that
Lorraine and Princess picked. Since the flowers
had such a strong, sweet smell, they were able to track down the traces that were
left on Aaliyah.

"Let's go." One of the demons said. His fellow demons nodded, and followed his
lead.

The group stopped at the same place where Aaliyah, Princess and Lorraine rested.
"We're here..." Aaliyah said as she collapsed to the ground. "Where's Lorraine and
Princess?" Patricia asked. "I don't know... But I hope
they're fine." Aaliyah said, her face flat on the ground.

"I hope so too. But for now, let's rest for a bit. And maybe we can use the time to
untie Andrei. Anyone who wants to do it?" Denise said. "Not me..." Aaliyah mumbled.
"Nope, goodnight." Patricia said, smirking slightly.

"*Sigh*... Guess that leaves me with you." Denise sighed as she looked at Andrei's
pathetic form. She already knew the rocks won't help, since they need sharpening.
So she decided to do it the old fashioned way, which
is untangling the vines. She carried Andrei and laid him down on the grass.
Thankfully, the grass was as soft as a pillow. So the boy didn't felt any
discomfort. Except for the fact that his pride was ruined. 'I can't
believe I'm getting untied by her. I'm so useless, I barely did anything but just
let myself be carried. Stupid, stupid, stupid-' Andrei's thoughts were cut off when
Denise spoke in a soft voice.

"If you're worrying about being a burden to us, then..."

He waited for her to continue speaking.

"Then yes, yes you are." Andrei glared at her. Denise glared back playfully, but
went back to work. "All jokes aside, don't worry. We'll get out of here in one
piece, I promise." She said, not meeting his eyes. "Don't sugar
coat it. I know you have your doubts." Andrei said. Denise slapped his shoulder and
raised her voice slightly, but not loud enough for Patricia and Aaliyah to hear. "I
said we'll get out of here, okay!? Now, shut the
fuck up, and let me untie you." She whisper-shouted.

"I don't like being babied." He hissed. "Hmph. Fine, I'll let you stay like that
for the rest of your life then." Denise said as she slowly stood up. "No! Wait!
Dammit... Untie me." Andrei said, his pride shattering even more. "I
thought so." Denise sat down again beside Andrei and continued to remove the vines.

Sleepiness slowly overcame Andrei. He tried keeping his eyes open, but failed to do
so. Now he truly looks like a mummy.

Denise worked until midnight just to get him untied. "And... There. Finally..."
Denise said as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Oh, Denise? You're
still awake?" Patricia asked. "Yeah, it took way too long to
get these vines off. I'll go to sleep now... You keep watch..." Denise said as she
wrapped her jacket around her body. Patricia smiled softly, as she sat down beside
Denise.

The smile on her face was replaced by a solemn expression. 'Will we ever be able to
go back home?' She thought as she looked up at the night sky.

Little did she know, this was only just the beginning of the grief and the pain
that she will experience soon in the future. Just what does the beauty of this
world hide?
