applications of such technology.

1 INTRODUCTION

The project for an employee location tracking system using Google Maps is aimed at providing
organizations with a robust solution for monitoring and managing the real-time whereabouts of
their workforce. Leveraging the powerful capabilities of Google Maps API, the system offers an
intuitive and interactive map interface that displays the live locations of employees. Key
features include customizable geofencing options for defining virtual boundaries, notifications
for entering or exiting predefined areas, and a comprehensive location history for analyzing
past movements. Integration with other organizational systems facilitates seamless workflow
integration, while mobile accessibility ensures employees can access their location information
on the go. With user authentication mechanisms and role-based access control, the system
ensures secure access to sensitive data. Implementation involves backend development for data
processing and storage, frontend development for designing the user interface, database design
for efficient data management, and integration with Google Maps API for mapping and
geolocation services. Thorough testing and quality assurance procedures are conducted to
ensure reliability, accuracy, and security. Deployment and ongoing maintenance ensure the
system continues to meet organizational needs for optimized workforce management,
operational efficiency, and employee safety.
1.2.1 Employee Location Tracking System using Google Map:
In an employee location tracking system that utilizes Google Maps, the algorithm primarily
relies on GPS technology provided by mobile devices. Google Maps itself doesn't provide a
specific algorithm for tracking employee locations; rather, it leverages the GPS functionality
available on smartphones and other devices to determine the user's location.
The algorithm used for tracking employee locations in such systems typically involves:
GPS (Global Positioning System): The GPS receiver on the employee's mobile device
communicates with satellites to determine its precise location. This information includes
latitude, longitude, and sometimes altitude. The accuracy of GPS-based tracking depends on
various factors such as the number of visible satellites, signal strength, and environmental
conditions.
Location Updates: The employee's device periodically sends location updates to the server,
indicating their current position. These updates can be triggered based on time intervals (e.g.,
every few seconds or minutes) or distance traveled (e.g., every few meters).
Data Transmission: The location data collected by the device is transmitted to the server using
internet connectivity (e.g., cellular data or Wi-Fi). The server processes and stores this data for
further analysis and visualization.
2. PROBLEM SPECIFICATION

The scope of this project entails the creation of a secure and user-friendly online Employee
Tracking platform using React Native. Employee location tracking systems have a wide range
of applications across various industries and organizational settings. One primary application
is workforce management, where these systems enable employers to monitor and optimize
employee productivity, attendance, and scheduling. By tracking employees' locations in real-
time, organizations can ensure that personnel are where they need to be, assign tasks efficiently,
and make informed decisions about resource allocation. In industries such as logistics and
transportation, employee location tracking systems play a crucial role in route optimization,
fleet management, and delivery tracking, improving operational efficiency and customer
service. Additionally, in healthcare settings, these systems facilitate the tracking of medical
staff, patients, and equipment, enhancing patient care, safety, and staff coordination. Moreover,
employee location tracking systems find applications in security and safety management,
enabling organizations to monitor employee movements in hazardous environments, enforce
safety protocols, and respond quickly to emergencies. Furthermore, in retail and hospitality
sectors, these systems can help businesses analyze foot traffic patterns, optimize store layouts,
and enhance customer service by ensuring that staff are available where they are needed most.
Overall, employee location tracking systems offer versatile applications across industries,
empowering organizations to streamline operations, improve productivity, and enhance overall
efficiency.

Characteristics
● The system should be capable of tracking employees' locations in real-time, providing
up-to-date information on their whereabouts.
● The system should be compatible with various devices and platforms, such as
smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers, ensuring accessibility and usability across
different devices and operating systems.
● Reporting and analytics features allow administrators to analyze employee location
data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize workforce
management and operational efficiency.
● The project should be cost-effective, with considerations for the initial implementation
costs, ongoing maintenance expenses, and the potential return on investment (ROI) in
terms of improved productivity, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
● A user-friendly interface is essential to facilitate ease of use and navigation for both
administrators and employees, enhancing user adoption and satisfaction with the
system.

6 TESTING

Unit Testing
Unit Testing is a type of software testing that focuses on individual units or components of a
software system. The purpose of unit testing is to validate that each unit of the software works
as intended and meets the requirements. Unit Testing is typically performed by the developers,
and it is performed early in the development process before the code is integrated and tested as
a whole system.
Test case:
Google map integration is able to fetch data and location history, Users will use their username
and password to login to their portal, Users shall be made inactive to avoid them performing
login, Admin needs reports as pdf or excel format.
Integration Testing
Integration testing is the systematic technique for constructing the program structure while
conducting tests to uncover errors associated with integrating after unit testing each module is
integrated to form one fine system. The Modules are, All the modules are tested and the errors
are rectified. All the modules when unit tested worked but after integrating the data can cause
errors. One module can have an adverse effect on other sub functions when continued may not
produce the desired major function, global data structures can cause problems, etc.
Hence, the objective of integration testing is to take unit tested modules and build a final
program structure. In this project, modules are combined to find the overall performance of the
system. In this project the modules are integrated properly, the emphasis being and testing
interfaces between modules. This test is designed to uncover errors associated with local or
global data structures. It is also designed to verify performance levels established during
software design are conducted.
Thus, all these modules are combined, verified and the information about the items is properly
carried on to the next module and then it is checked.
Test case:
Need data report for anyperiod to be viewed
Validation Testing
Validation testing is to check the variable in the page. “Confirm Password does not match”.
The software should do what the user requires.
Test case: Login module
The validation testing is used to check whether the required value for the text field is matched
or not. For example, if the text field requires an Email-id (abc@gmail.com) then the value
should be the required field otherwise the process should not be validating, and then it is called
Validation testing.
Acceptance Testing
User acceptance of a system is the key factor for the success of any system. The system under
consideration is tested for user acceptance by constantly keeping in touch with the prospective
system users at the time of developing and making changes where required.
Involve end-users in testing to ensure the system meets their expectations.
Test Case:
Users should be able to easily navigate through the website.
